I see so many JVR trade i think it's a bad move right now. With so many young wings I think the Leafs should sacrifice 1 or 2 spring chickens for RHD.

Leafs Brett Pesce
Hurc Brown, Soshnikov and fehr for cap relief
With Kapenen and Lievo and more sitting in the wings this a smart move.

Do you not grasp that the point of a rebuild is to get young players and to grow with them moving forward? Why trade them away?

Hey DBF I not asking to trade the fram to spring Chicken for a stud RHD that's not breaking the bank. But trading JVR right now would weaken the left side and at this moment the Leafs will content with Marleau. Look T the bigger picture.

JvR isn't that integral of a leader, when you look at leaders taking the young chickens under their wing it's Martin and Bozak, and will be Hainsey.
JvR isn't all that important of a piece, trade him for something the Leafs need.
Jus because you're older doesn't mean you have the traits to be a leader.
Auston Matthews needs no vets to look up to, he's already his own leader and soon he will be the teams leader.

I've is a positional need. Not a leadership need. If we trade him, it creates a hole on the left side. What do we have after a 38 year old marleau? Not much.
