Hockey trade giving some youth with upside to fill a team need.
Florida can probably sign brown for a 3 year deal for 2.5-3 mil saving them close to 2 mil probably and adding a pretty good middle six player who has already proven he can score.

They are not desperate to cut salary. Once season kicks in they get salary relief from LTIR.

I'm not sure I understand you. You're saying LTIR will give them relief from salary? Insurance does pick up most of the salary paid but they don't have anyone on LTIR. If you're saying cap wise it has no effect. Florida is a BUDGET team. They have an internal cap of $65M (they are over that amount already with players still to sign) .
