I think this one makes a lot of sense with the cap and roster needs

NYI trades
Mayfield 1.45
Parise .750
Clutterbuck 3.50 50% retained (1.75)

Tor trades
Dermott 1.5
Ritchie 2.5
2022 2nd rounder


Mayfield has another year on his deal and expires in 2023. Clutterbuck and parise are out of contract.

NYI acquires a young cheap Dermott and 2nd rounder while maximizing value on Mayfield.

Adds great forward depth for the leafs playoffs and picks up 2 great vets on expiring deals with Parise and Clutterbuck.

Tor may have to add a prospect here or another later pick to even it out.

I think Tor has to add a lot more than a so so prospect or late pick to even it out. You have NYI eating half of Clutterbucks salary and taking on Ritchie. They also give up the best player in the deal in Mayfield who is on a very friendly contract.

Looking back at the post that was ambitious I may have over valued Dermott. I would pay a first rounder here to do this deal.
