I threw this trade out a couple of days ago as I had said how Calgary can't score and the Bennett situation needs resolving.

With Nylander not really getting it going and Calgary sliding even farther, is this type of deal looking more possible? It would give Willy a fresh start with a more grinding type of team. He adds scoring, speed and talent to Calgary. Nylander's contract should be of interest. Vesey could take up 4th line duies where they seem to want to keep Bennett there anyway. The Bennet saga ends, which must be wearing on the players in Calgary by now.

After this trade, I would look at seeing if we could get Nashville to bite on a trade involving Kerfoot for Haula.

We would be better now and more cap compliant now and moving forward.

Screwed up my lines though. I wanted Hyman, Engvall and Mikheyev as the third line. Haula would play centre there if we moved Kerfoot. Engvall would move down and so would Mangiapane when Simmonds comes back. What depth we would have when Mangiapne, Spezza, Boyd, Ryan, Engvall are all looking at 4th line minutes this year. Someone gets hurt and we could easily move one of these guys up the lineup. Next year for relatively cheap, you have Engvall, Mangiapane, Mikheyev all in our bottom 6.

Am I the only one that really liked the Hyman, Engvall, Mikheyev line last night or did others also see some good potential there?

Tzcuck {sp}. he should be the only target for the leafs. Brings that spunk that the leafs need. Just think of him and Simions. I would sent Nylander, Vessey and a second round pick.
