I wouldn’t make this trade.

If Anaheim gives up on Gibson, they are going through a full rebuild. Freddy wouldn’t suit their purposes. And neither would Kapanen for that matter. Both are beyond the age bracket for players that will be in their prime when Anaheim wants to compete next. That won’t be until Getzlaf retires and Zegras is leading the team. Which is still a number of years away.

Anaheim is open to taking a cap dump for a pick though, so how about Ceci + 3rd for a 7th?

I think leafs won’t have to pay a 3rd to only get a 7th back. I think leafs can get rid of Ceci for cheaper.
