Just wondering what you guys think of something along the lines of:

TO TOR:
Martinez
Campbell

TO KINGS
Kapanen
Ceci (for cap purposes)

Not sure if leafs would have to add but la gets a winger that can score with multiple years, plus he is an RFA at the end of his contract

Leafs get a rhd with one year after this year, who has experience with muzzin.

Campbell while not likely the best candidate for the leafs seems like a realistic target and a cheaper one too. while he may not be the best option out there he would give the leafs more of a chance than hutch currently does.

Right idea though I feel the Leafs would have to add a prospect and a draft pick.

To me it’s too much Martinez is an aging player is signed for another year I’d much rather see the leafs go after a young player I don’t think this is enough to move kapanen I’d say swap him with Johnson and add maybe Bracco and it’s a good deal.

Martinez is not worth a roster player (either Kapanen or Johnsson is way too much) . Martinez is directly comparable to Muzzin, who got a 1st + 2xb-prospects. Muzzin is better than Martinez though, so you would have to reduce the value even from there. Start with a 2nd round pick and go from there.

And start another rebuild? I don’t think so. Barrie could be gone for sure and Kerfy is possible but not ideal. But not nylander too and especially not for picks.

I wouldn’t want to pay 11M for pietrangelo.

I think leafs won’t have to pay a 3rd to only get a 7th back. I think leafs can get rid of Ceci for cheaper.

I say the pairings because muzzin and Martinez have played a lot together and after a few games should get chemistry back. and dermott and holl have played together a decent amount too in the marlies so it may make more sense that way.

Yea for sure leafslife!

yea I don't think he saw it due to Ceci skating right in front of his face.

At least tonight he was better for the most part at least.

I can see where you are coming from as a former tendy as well.
goal 1 was on andersen but as i said before it's way more barrie/ muzzin fault.
goal 2 - okay yea I get that he shouldn't have gone down. fast game and slightest mistake can end up in a goal. like marner being out for that faceoff
goal 3 - yup but my point remains
goal 5 - I'm saying there was almost no chance for him to square up for the tip because of the self screen and if he aligns for the tip and it ends up being a shot he looks stupid.

Anyways, he would surely want to perform better than he did. hoping for more tonight but yea our whole team needs to step it up. Andersen will get into form and when he does if managed properly he is elite and one of the best in the league.

I really don't know what to think of Ceci. Sometimes he looks like he has promise in him but then sometimes he looks just terrible. Kinda like roulette to see which one you get.

I've been impressed with Barrie for the most part but hopefully the coaching staff can improve his play in his own end.

There's some validity to what you are saying but it's much more on the team/ coaching too. Like why was marner doing that faceoff against point. also i'm sure if you were in net you would likely let in a lot more goals than he did. Either way he wasn't good enough tho
goal 1: more on muzzin/ barrie then andersen
goal 2: that's a one timer. where he had to slide across. not his fault
goal 3 : mans shoulda had it but barrie and rielly were terrible there
goal 4: not andersen's fault at all/ what was muzzin doing
goal 5: good tip. maybe shoulda been a couple inches over but he was aligned for the shot and rielly/ ceci can't let point be open right there. also there were bodies in front. i mean ceci skated right in front of his face
goal 6: unlucky bounce. he had a chance but if he didn't move and the shot went off after the pass he woulda gotten it. questionable.
goal 7: barrie shoulda covered the pass and yes andersen had to slide across but if that was a playoff game every goalie should have that

All 7 goals there is someone other than Andersen to blame. Yes it wasn't a great game for him but and he let in some bad goals but its not just on him. The team needs to help too and the team hasn't showed up. I really like Rielly too but him and Ceci were a hazard on the ice. I think Rielly/ Ceci and Muzzin/ Barrie had worse games than Andersen.
