Leafs trade Marner
Vancouver trades Boeser, Virtanen, Hughes

We get a guy who is 2nd tier in Boeser, a depth guy that might actually still have some potential, and a question mark prospect for defense in Hughes. And yes, Hughes is a huge question mark. Which just goes to show that no matter how highly rated a prospect is, you never know how he’s going to turn out until he’s on the team.

This actually would peak my interest in a trade, Boeser is a great player and Hughes has a lot of potential. Virtanen has been largely a disappointment, but worthy of a 3rd line role.
