No tavernas means kerfoot and Engvall now become even more important. But as u stated when all is healthy so yeah trade either one once tavernas is back.

Jersey needs a guy to play with Hamilton or signing him was a waste. Graves is good but not top pairing good. Not now or in the future.
Graves is perfect for Marino. That’s a 2nd pairing now and once Luke Hughes and Nemec develop and take over 2nd pair together and eventually top pair Marino and graves will be dealt or one heck of a 3rd line 2-4 years from now. As for Nemec he is ready for 3rd pairing now and with seigenhager, okhotiuk and Dahl battlin to join him this year but moving forward all 3 are 7th d. Mukhamadulin is a wild card he could be a top 4 dman but he could also be a 7th d if he ever even comes to North America.
So once u add it all up there is Noobe ready now to play with Hamilton and by the time there is someone ready Hamilton won’t be a top dman on this team. So solution find him a left dman

So how do u get as jersey Cant just take on 4.6 cap hit. They could trade severson and his 4.16 cap and throw in 3 prospects and a pick but why would Arizona want severson and at 5.1 salary when chycrun is only 4. million salary this year yeah Arizona won’t do that
Solution well Johnson has a 3.4 cap bug .75 salary hit this year. If jersey retains half of severson cap/ salary along with Johnson’s .75 Arizona only takes on 3.3 salary total which is less than the 4 they owe chycrun while jersey saves 1.35 - whatever forward between Foote/ zetterlund/ holtz that replaces johnsson. That’s .60 in cap savings to upgrade the LHD big time
Jersey throws in mukhamadulin since where and when will he come. Pretty quick now that he isn’t behind so many. Throw in whichever Arizona chooses between Foote and zetterlund as holtz is off limits. Add in a 2nd rounder in 2023 and I think Arizona bites
Now Arizona has severson to unload and even better at half price. Severson full price was a 1st and prospect. What’s ge worth to team needing the savings to be under the cap.
Arizona is paying 2.55 salary so give then Engvall at 2.25.salary. and no’s Arizona saves 30 more grand. Best part of that is severson cap hit vs Engvall saves the leafs .084 in cap. That was the easy solution but now leafs owe Arizona the 1st and prospect.
Is Sandin worth close to thst? If not just give Arizona the conditional 3rd in 2023 which is arizonas condition anyways so instead of Arizona choosing between the leafs 2nd in 202 ( or the leafs 3rd in 2023 in that Ritchie deal now this deal just gives them both and be done not waiting on them to choose
