2 moves that I think are doable that would give leafs a solid team to take a run!

These 2 guys would make them better up front and on the backend.. leafs have alot of moveable pieces. So exactly the pieces the trading partners are looking for we realy dont know.
Each trade could be tweaked
Something like this though.

Adam Larsson for muzzin, holl and a pick.
Then kerfoot, sandin and a pick or prospect for tj miller.

I just don't see why muzzin waives his ntc to go to Seattle.

2.) 24 Jul 2022 18:12:43
I like the targets. Seattle does look like they have a decent D line-up as is so I don't know if they want to mess with it but if they did, . I would certainly target Larrson, Soucy, Big O as well.

Miller would be an awesome fetch. I feel like Knies would have to be added just to get the ears listening and to try and gain traction off it. It might be hard to tug Miller off of the Nucks but it seems like a good starting point. Again, . Nice targets!

3.) 24 Jul 2022 20:45:01
Seattle maybe a tough sell for muzzin, but if a team tells you they want to go in a different direction and don't want you then I would want to leave. But if he doesnt, that's his right, they can find another way to make a larsson trade happen. He's a big hitting, shot blocking crease clearing dman, with a friendly cap hit.

4.) 24 Jul 2022 20:50:17
Ya maybe not what the canucks would want in return, but we should have enough to make it happen. If they want to not lose miller for nothing a deal is there.
Larsson and Miller into the lineup makes us alot better in my opinion.

NYLANDER
HOLL

NASH
TANNER JEANNOT (big tough scoring winger)
ALEXANDER CARRIER
1ST 2022

Salary out
LEAFS: $8,962,336
NASH: $1,5333,333

Leafs add $7,429,003.
They need the cash to get a solid #1 goalie.
You have to have a stud goalie in playoffs. Both col/tampa have this.
The talent the leafs have means nothing with out a goalie.

Col won with Francouz. The West has has pretty bad goaltending overall eight now.

I agree though, you may not need Vassy or Igor, but you aren't winning with Mike Smith either.

Biggest problem acquiring goalies isn't the cap issue, it's that if a team has a number one, they don't give up on them. Of the last decade we can name a handful of goalies who have dominated at one point or another. Bob, Vassy, Igor, Rask, Price, etc. How many have even hit free agency? It just isn't generally a thing.

2.) 15 Jun 2022 21:26:07
Just throwing this out there… I would not call Kuemper or Francouz a “stud” goaltender. I also know that we could find better value for our best playoff performer on a good contract.

3.) 15 Jun 2022 22:25:26
I am wondering if the Leafs can't get Campbell to sign if they don't make a deal for Georgiev and then try and sign DeSmith hoping for a solid tandem that should cost under $5M combined.

4.) 15 Jun 2022 22:28:42
You need cap space to sign a decent#1 goalie. Dubas has too much committed up front. Even if you want cambell back which I'm good with. Cost you 4.5 5mil a year. That money needs to come from somewhere. Nylander was not better than marner and Matthew's in the playoffs. He's one dimension when he decides to show up, he's soft. Against tampa, I saw him slow down in a corner to not get hit. They need grit man! Watch the game tonight.

5.) 15 Jun 2022 23:48:01
Did you just say best playoff performer? We must have watched different games lol.

6.) 16 Jun 2022 03:18:17
Said he wasn't better.

7.) 16 Jun 2022 11:34:15
@Hammy. I think LL's comment was to Alberta, which I agree with LL. If someone saw Nylander as our best playoff performer, then I too was watching a different game.

8.) 16 Jun 2022 18:45:58
See francouz is a weird one to me, is he a stud? Probably not. Is it because of performance? Absolutely not. Reminds me of coliacivo or however you spell his name. Great player when he's healthy, just rare that he is.

9.) 16 Jun 2022 19:58:07
He had 1 less point than Marner and makes approx $5m less a season. He was also playing 2nd and 3rd line without Matthews. The game he “slowed up” was because we were losing 4-1 and the game was already out of reach. Why get crunched in a game that is too far gone?

10.) 16 Jun 2022 22:46:46
You play ringette don't you?

11.) 17 Jun 2022 10:56:14
@Alberta. Were you not a Leafs fan during the Columbus series when the Leafs scored 3 I believe in something like the last 5 minutes to send it to overtime. How about the infamous game 7 against Boston? The game was not out of hand. That is just part of what Nylander's game.

if Dubas still insists on not trading some big pieces to get some over the top pieces. then just tweaking with douable pieces would help. Adding Carson Soucy on the backend and Tanner Jeanott upfront. Both big hard hitting sandpaper guys. They wouldn't cost you much.

1.) 06 Nov 2022 15:27:26
I’d be really interested in hearing the “wouldn’t cost you much” specifics!

2.) 06 Nov 2022 16:23:18
Jeanot does 3 things, hit fight and score. In what way does that not cost you a lot?

05 Nov 2022 20:31:53
Leafs need to tweak the lineup as the canucks did recently. Simple douable pieces that would give them some sandpaper. Adding a dman like Carson Soucy and a forward like tanner Jeannot.

You know how hard teams try, for years, to find a Jeannot type player, right?

You don't just say "Dubas, go get McJesus" like it's an easily accomplished task.

I like it, I prefer Tanner Jeannot over McCarron though.
The money saved will help go towards finding a #1 starter. Possibly resigning Campbell.
