Maple Leafs trade Alex Kerfoot
For James Van Reimsdyk straight up. Philadelphia gets a younger, versatile winger that can go up and down the lineup that's paid 50% less (cap dump).
The leafs get a big 2nd line winger with size. He can still score, has great ability, good size, and his net front presence is something the team could use. Not to mention in his last year with leafs on line with Marner he scored a career high 38 goals.
So he already as some chemistry. Plus JVR can retire a leaf.
The leafs have the cap to do this right now with just over 7 million in cap room.
I Would take JVR over kerfoot any day.
Maple leafs make a run at cup with JVR one more time, and maybe get him for bit cheaper if decides to resign.

I loved JVR as a leaf he was one of my favourites when the leafs sucked but he doesn’t have the legs anymore he’s more of a guy you world get to bolster your power play but jt is that guy for the leafs I would do this trade is he was 50% retained so then it’s cap in cap out and the leafs could still add more.

He isn’t JVR like he was with Leafs

To Leafs - JVR (50% salary retained)
To Flyers - Wayne Simmonds & 4th round pick.

Yeah my bad the 4th round pick was supposed to be for 2024 not 2023 both from Ottawa in matt murray trade.
And I know a lot of people wanna trade nylander but was just wondering what they would look like together lol.

Sorry Cloud. I meant that Pittsburgh should be sending picks to the Leafs and not the other way around.

I was looking at it was more of a cap dump to get rid of kerfoots salary. That's what the picks were for since Alex Nylander makes much less, not because he is better than kerfoot. But also alex nylander is an 8th round pick just like his bro. Yes, he hasn't had much success on the teams he has played for so far but it is possible he could rebound on the leafs with sometime playing with his bro, or many good other players. Just a thought.
