I'm sure everyone read the news regarding Cozens. I think Leafs would have to pull off a 3 team trade to interest Buffalo.

To Chicago
Robertson $.875M
Niemela ELC
2025 2nd (via Toronto)

To Buffalo
Murphy $4.4M
2026 1st (via Toronto)
2025 4th (via Chicago)
Kampf $2.4M
Domi $3.75M

To Toronto
Cozens $7.1M

Obviously Kampf & Domi would need to waive.

No clue whether the values make sense.

Thoughts?

So domi, kamph, Robertson, Niemela, a first and a second for Cozens? Yikes.

He’s not coming to the leafs no matter what they are saying. I’d rather give that contract to Knies.

I don't think it's enough to be honest.
I didn't include any of our top prospects, Cowan, Minten, Danford or Grebenkin.

I think you are on the right track with it likely need a 3rd team and one that could give Buffalo a top 4 RD. I think Buffalo would be looking for a Tanev type of D, but younger. I don't think yu are too far off on the values.
People are down on Cozens, but he is a 23 year old 6'3" centre who doesn't mind the physical side of the game and is only 2 years removed from a 30+ goal season. He is likely a 50-70 pt 2nd line centre in the future who can play both special teams. He has value despite a down year. Too much potential there to be given away.

I say at that AAV let Detroit or Montreal have him. For him to be available buffalo is regretting giving him that contract and trying to unload it, cause if he’s that good and centres are so coveted then why u getting rid of him. It’s a head scratcher.

There’s got to be a reason buffalo is willing to move him. Not breaking the bank for
Him.

He looks disinterested on the ice
Losing does that
The fresh start solution seems appropriate for him.

Give the money to Knies.
