RLF

leafs trade Engvall Holl first 2023 Knies Hirvonen Steeves

Coyotes Chychrun

The leafs third line would be fine with Malgin Kerfoot Jarnknok. That line will be great defending and can chip in some goals which is all you need. The first two lines are going to be big trouble tomorrow against JETs

RLF

If leafs move those two players it's nearly 5 million in space

What area of need do you want to spend 5 million on at deadline. I don't think you need a forward. Is defence good enough

Reilly Brodie
Muzzin Sandin
Giordano Liljegren

Does Chychrun make leafs that much better ?

@DM. On the trade, I don't think it takes quite that much. Take out one prospect likely. I don't think that 3rd line you show will be that great. What does Malgin do really that Steeves can't? I know he had a good pre-season, but he has done that before and has never played a full NHL season yet and there is a good reason for that. He fades.

The D. Unless Muzzin is done, Chychrun is not my choice. If Muzzin is done, Chyc is a good add. Leafs need help on D and they need more size in the top 9, especially if ZAR and NAB are both slotted as 4th line players under Keefe/ Dubas. Good teams typically have a very good, heavy 3rd line. Leafs don't. Leafs also heavily rely on the top 2 lines and 4th sees little icetime. I'd like to see more balanced lines and icetime. Engvall and Sandin missing camp is showing. Kerfoot is versatile, but paid too much to score less than 10 goals a season. They need to improve their D and more size upfront. imo.

@Demon. Nah they don't what? Need to improve D and add more size upfront?

Nah both teams don’t do this trade

Unless Arizona retains Knies won’t be included

Arizona wants a young NHL ready prospect. A top tier prospect and a 1st rounder minimum

Toronto won’t give up the future unless a top 4 RHD or a top 6 LW is coming back

So nah to the trade all together. Had nothing to do what you wrote RLF so way to overreact you old fool

Demon out.

Surely you jest!
That is a huge overpayment for Chychrun.
Chychrun is a 2nd pairing, LHD, something Leafs do not need at the moment.
Over his 6 seasons in the NHL (492 games) Chychrun has only managed to suit up for 337 games.
Approximately 68.5% of his teams schedule.
He is chronically injured and has not played yet this year while recovering from two separate injuries.
Out of his six seasons in the NHL Chychrun has managed only one above average season.
I do not see Chychrun as a difference maker and would hate to see the Leafs give up any of their picks and prospects for him.
