Toews & Kane to Toronto for a 1st rd pick in 2023, 2024 & 2025. Rights to Sandin, Kerfoot,Holl, Steeves, Niemela & Hirvonen. If Leafs win the Cup for the 2022 / 2023 season Hawks get an additional 1st rd pick in 2026. No pucks are lottery protected. Hawks eat half of Kane & Toews contracts.

With Lily some potential for offense in the 2nd pairing on D, of course Kane & Toews offer many many intangibles. If Mete can find even some of the form that made him an elite offensive D prospect, then the 3rd pairing on D could also add some offense. Certainly the path to win Kane & Toews understand, teams around the league jaws dropping with envy. That path they can relay to a very highly skilled, & still relatively young team.

why does everyone have such a major chub for kanes cap hit. the bare minimum is we need 2.6m available to take the contract on. yes I get he can put the puck inthe net but, hes getting older and slower. id muich rather use a first to bring kappy, or bolster the blue line right side or just keep the pick to brign in much more long term peices once dubas is fired for just slapping a new coat of paint over the his problems instead of fixing the issues properly.

Hrenklin it is obvious you are clueless, Patrick Kane far from washed up at 33. 92 pts for 15th in pounts, was 5th league wide in assists. Kane has a championship pedigee & is a big game player, Leafs have a talented team a few tweaks & an addition like Kane could seal the deal. So you would rather Leafs continue to lose, rather than build a championship roster.
