Tor: Nylander

Ana: Comtois, 2022 1st (boston), 2023 4th

So we free up nylanders cap space, bring in a fair replacement who might jsut need a change of scenery who is doesn't pan out as well can be flipped next trade deadline.

Tor: 2022 1st (boston), kallgren, hirvonen, dursak

WIn: Hellebyuvk

This is a futires package, WInnipeg is in that intersting position of where do we go from here. I think its leaning to a blow up. losing buff and now the unknown with sheiffele possible trade request. hellebyuk has said he wants to be traded if they rebuild. I really like what helle brings to the table and fills the leafs need of a goalie. we can now let cambell walk and have a better younger goalie.

now we need to sign a couple players:

gio, lyub @ 2yr 1.5-2m aav
manson 5yr@4.5-5.5aav
MAF - 1yr 1.5m

manson is the covented prive, top 4 RHD with a nasty mean streak. he can pair well with either brodie or reilly depending on the situational needs. he'd be my target #1 all day every day and watching him against ST louis is proving that.

time to free up some cap space again

Tor: Mrazek, kerfoot,

Ari: 2023 3rd (Dal) . 2023 3rd (Wash)

I do like how kerfoot fits on this team, but, the contract structure is front loaded and will only be owed $750k in real money after leafs pay hi signing bonus. Ideally I think the leafs would have had gone for a second and a 5th but since its after this draft the leafs would get 2x3rd in 23.

now we have some more bartering peices. and need some more cap space.

Tor: muzzin

Chi: 2023 2nd (tampa), Kalynuk

chicago gets a good dman to play with jones who is a big upgrade over de haan. leafs get a pic and an old RFA to plug that is unlikley to play in the nhl into the marlies for a couple years.

a couple resignings
kase 2yr, 1.5m aav
sandin, 3yr .175m
liljgren 3yr 1.75
spezza 1yr 750k
balckwell 2yr 1.25m aav
endgval 2yr 1.75m aav

so overall the teams into looking too drastically changed.

comtois matthews marner
bunting tavares?
engval kamphf kase
blackwell spezza clifford

simmonds, robertson, abruzzese

total cap hits: 44,552,442

Reilly lyubushkin
brodie manson
giodanno liljgren
sandin holl

total cap hit: 26,250.000

Hellebyuk
Marc andre fleury

total cap hit: 7,666,666

cap penalty: 212,500

total cap: $78,469,108

so this leave 1 RW spot open beside tavares with 4m cap space, with 2 tradable assets in holl (2m) Simmonds (900k) or even clifford (762k) I heard thru the grape vine druin could ba available.

ad to add, druin has a bad injury history so his value shouldn't be all too bad.

Where to begin? First off I hope it’s your voice to text making all those spelling mistakes. As far as “hearing through the grapevine”…. you heard nothing. Don’t act like you have some type of inside information. Simmonds and Clifford hardly qualify as tradable assets. Fleury won’t play for that money.

So many guys i don't want from that group.
Manson won't sign with Leafs. rejected a trade this year
don't want Engvall, Blackwell, Clifford or Simmonds. these are not the players that will win us a cup for various reasons. no killer instinct, too small. not physical enough or 2 slow

Fleury won't sign here. probly going back to Pitt

As for Robertson. another speedy skill guy who one would see on first 2 lines. but to small and can't open the lanes. i'd try to ship him to Arizona for Crouse.

I totally agree. With that lineup we have very little chance.

Blackwell is a decent 4th liner and Engvall played well in the back half of the season. Clifford is a 13th forward, don't mind him there, but being in the lineup consistently doesn't make a big difference. 4th line plays 6 minutes a night.

@BDC that's a bit harsh. I'm not sure why you're attacking someone's spelling and grammar. It's not like they gave someone the wrong first name (lol)
