I have had Nylander to NJ I am not sure how many times, so what is one more really.

NJ
Nylander $6.96
Sandin RFA

Tor
McLeod $.950
Foote
Okhotyuk(this is the sleeper in the trade)
2022 2nd
2023 1st

My only concern would be it provides little to no immediate benefit.

I like McLeod as you know and I believe he can be a 20+ goal and assist guy, he has amazing speed and not afraid to be physical.

Foote could be a very solid addition, his AHL performance has been decent while Okhotyuk appears to have NHL talent, size and physicality.

If Foote and Okhotyuk can make the jump next year it could work otherwise it’s more of a future investment.

I'm good with this. You can use the cap savings to either resign a few guys, or grab a 2RW.

Rsears. I see it as immediate and future. The cap space allows to add now. Foote probably makes the jump. I have been talking about Okhotyuk for about 2 years. I see him as a left shooting Lyubushkin with better play making ability and he fights. He is becoming what I thought he could be. The Nylander cap space and not having to resign Sandin means they can re-sign Lyubushkin and others and still have Okhotyuk developing.
Help now with McLeod/ Foote and signings. Help in the future with Okhotyuk, a 2nd and a 1st.

If Foote can make the big squad then I’m more comfortable.

If McLeod gets to 20-20 and Foote goes 10-20 we make up for losing Nylander.

And I can’t believe I’m saying this but I thought Sandin was decent last year but the cap space should allow the Leafs to acquire a top 4 D-man.

I’m going to look for him now. Lol.

A good trade for both teams.
My concern is who do the Leafs find to replace Nylander on the right side of Tavares?

Solid trade.

Rsears. I would be hoping to resign Lyubushkin and Gio if Gio would come back on a friendly deal. I liked our D at the end last year.

WB49. I would still hope to work another move revolving around Kerfoot for Trenin. Would like another big man in the top 9. Resign Engvall and Trenin (under $2M each per) . Tavares and Kampf would have McLeod, Trenin, Engvall, Foote, Robertson to make up possible winger combos. Still have to figure out in goal, but I would like to go after Stolarz and sign a guy like Holtby on the cheap with him. Should still have tons of cap space left if looking at a big add.
