I think this was the exact trade that I read last week that I liked. Still like it.

Just don't see how this makes us better. Its time to add, and I believe the focus should be on D.

I like it but I don’t like the long term commitment on garland.

Ok, I had to look Garland up. So his last trade was with OEL for 3 contracts, a 1st, 2nd, and 7th (I think) . He is an undersized fwd that avg's around 0.5 pts/ gm. I believe we have a similar player named Robertson that's not making $5mil a year, I would stick with him.

@16 that's really hard to judge. He's been on dumpster fire teams his entire career, ppg doesn't mean much.

My favourite examples of why ppg don't matter, Johnson and Kapanen beside Mathews. He dragged them along for a full season.

The advantage I see with Garland over Nylander is that Garland plays a similar game to Bunting.
A guy that is always in his opponents face.
Never floats.
Is quite physical for his size.
Good defensively.
And will get Leafs 45 - 55 points a season playing with Tavares.
