I figure this won't be a popular one, but I would consider it if T-Bay would. Have to take advantage of their situation before someone else solves it for them.

T-Bay
Kerfoot 3.5

Tor
Johnson 5
Raddysh RFA
Katchouk RFA

T-bay gets a younger 3C replacement for Johnson and saves TB $1.5M in cap space for the next two seasons. Kerfoot being signed for 2 seasons gives them some cap certainty.

Tor gets a 3C in Johnson that is definitely overpaid. His stats have declined with his icetime in the past 3 seasons. I would try him on the top 6 wing and see if he can produce. Compensation for taking on Johnson with his extra year in term and $1.5M more in cap hit is getting two really solid F prospects in Raddysh and Katchouk. Both are former 2nd rounders and have developed well. Raddysh is a big man who can put the puck in the net and Katchouk is a physical energy type guy that has produced at the AHL level. Both were over a point per game in the AHL last year.
Sign Katchouk and Raddysh both to 2 years at $1.25M. This gives the Leafs two legitimate bottom 6 options on the cheap that either/or may be able to move up the lineup if needed or they prove themselves.
