Been hearing rumours today Of the leafs interested in Thornton . What do you guys think of this ? And would you sign him to a league min deal for the 3rd or 4th line?
Even though he is getting old I think he would be a great addition to the team

Great 4th line

2 geezers (spezza Thornton) with Robertson. Robertson could hit 20 goals and only play 8 min a game lol

I like the idea.

I think with us having Spezza it doesn't make sense to add Thornton as cool as it would be to have him.

The big problem with also signing Thornton is when you have to sit one of these guys (Spezza, Thornton) in the press box if they aren't contributing. No one wants to see HOF players at the end of their careers just watching the games. It becomes an overblown negative story that we don't need. Joe would bring character and mentorship, but is it even worth it if he is a 4th liner that you may have to sit out at times or stretches of games.
