If Dubas is after Murray and would be willing to move Anderson if he can work a deal. Both moves at the same time

Calgary gets a #1 goalie they could afford to re-sign as Rittich is UFA end of season. They also pick up a much needed young NHL D that could be signed on the cheaper side.

Pit gets the 15OA for a Goalie they want to move without taking on cap dollars.

Tor gets the Goalie Dubas wants and retains a 1st, but moves back 4 spots. They also retain their forward assets they can use to acquire a D-man or still have the 1st to use.

I don’t think either of these goalies are worth a 1st. Throwing in Dermott doesn’t make it any better for Calgary either.

The only team that wins here is Pittsburgh. I’m not sure how it’s possible for two teams to be losers, but Calgary and Toronto both look like they overpay here, with Toronto getting fleeced.

Andersen, Dermott, and a downgrade on the 1st for Murray is an overpay for sure.

And Calgary pays a 1st for a rental goalie and a third line defenseman. That’s got to be an overpay too.

Pittsburgh gets 15th overall pick for a goalie they don’t need, and take no cap back. That’s a helluva good deal for them.

If the Penguins have watched both Murray and Jarry for the past two years and then chosen Jarry as their #1 goaltender then why would the Leafs want Murray.
He's a big step down from Andersen!

Calgary is in win now for the past couple of years. They have tried patchwork goaltending and it hasn't worked. Anderson and Dermott should have more value to them now, then the 1st would as the 1st won't help them for a few years. If they like Anderson, they have the room to re-sign him.

Pitts ask is rumoured as a 1st for Murray. Kapanen wasn't worth a 1st + a good prospect but we got it. Much of Pitt going with Jarry is money. They could sign him for less than what Murray is rumoured to want. Jarry's numbers are not that good. Until this year, his numbers were much worse than DeSmith and Murray. Cap space due to a remodel by Rutherford, is crucial to the Pens as they take another run at it.

For the Leafs, this is about "if" Dubas target is Murray. They basically get Murray for Anderson and Dermott. Since they needed to move Anderson anyway, it is Murray for Dermott and 4 dropped spots in the draft.
