I was torn on nylander for kaako but I added because I think kaako might have a higher ceiling.

Vegas adds on stone for marner because marner is younger. Stone may regress at the back end of that contract.

We choose which of brodie or tanev we like less and that is who we expose for the expansion draft.

We solve are money problem and still ice a decent team, yes our bottom line could fall apart at any moment, but if they do we bring up kids from the minors up, I think its atleast worth a shot. That line would still have magic flowing through them in some shifts. This is actually probably one of my favourite teams I've put together on this site. When that 4th line is clicking they still have the skill and fire power to take over a game

Nylander is way better then Kakko.
So why do we add the 15th pick?
I like stone but not for that much
If I'm trading Marner it would be for a defense
Perry will get over 2 million.

I am not even going to get into the trades. We don't win the cup in one or two years, we are rebuilding again because we are really old now.

To be honest, the Leafs don't need to make wholesome changes to the lineup. The trio of Matthews, Tavares and Marner are not going anywhere, possibly add in Rielly and Nylander as 1B players not to be traded.
The only reason Nylander potentially gets traded is if it nets a top flight RHD in the process, otherwise there is no point.

See I don't think this team is as bad as you guys think it is. It may not look as good on paper, but to me I'd take stone over marner in a heart beat, kaako will probably both be better than nylander and sign cheaper than nylander. Do I wish I still had kapanen for 3 rw instead of simmonds? Yes yes I do. This is more about keeping players that play for the patch on the front, not the name on the back. We get a playoff performer in Lehner, we get an actual top 4 d instead of a 1ld 2ld and the rest 3rd pairing guys. The offense doesn't look as potent, but defense wins in the playoffs, Matthews stone and tavares are all play drivers. They don't need an incredible amount of skill on their wings. And their wings still look decent.

Islandjet, nothing you post can be taken seriously the jets have 2 high end players in scheifle and helly, you have a few mid range forwards not as good as you think they are, but not that bad. But your defense over there is hot garbage and you should know it.

If vegas adds 2023,2024 and 2025 1st rounder then i'm on board. Marner stone today is a great deal for both teams. To bad in 3 years as stone regresses his contract becomes a boat anchor. Marners contract is a 1.12ppg boat anchor now but in year 4-6 he will make this deal look stupid. We won't remember stone for his wendel clarkness after his final 3 years of david clarksoness. marner will progress into that contract while stone regresses into his

Knight would be an awesome prospect. i'm sure florida thought that as well but the bob happened. His contract happened. if knight is dealt i'm sure florida would want a roster player and a goalie prospect back. Throw in a 3rd rounder and they might just do it

Andersen is wanted by 5 teams bad. His price keeps going up as teams bid out each other. If toronto takes reimer back i see this deal presented being something close to reality

If pionk, morrisey and poolman is enough for the jets than have at er. 4 guys leaving to free agency and never lookin back. Heinola if the virus didn't stunt his development could be ready. Stanley is a tree on ice. Niku is TJ Brennen but not even as good. Dahlsson is a great #7. But hey if you islandjet don't want a defensive bottom pair guy i won't argue

Kakko just doesn't do it for me. i'm sure this deal will get a major split. on my end rangers give the 1st up and leafs still might say no. but again that's my opinion i'm sure it will be very split

Is it a rebuild though? I’m not too sure if it’s an attempt to tank or a desperate attempt to make an effort to go all the way.

Either way, I’m pretty sure you are way over the 50 contract limit. So a bunch of guys from the Marlies, or wherever they are, would have to be traded out to accommodate all those signings. That could really hurt us in the depth and prospect department.

That’s what I like about your posts the most Randy. They are definitely the most original and outside the box.
