The pens trade was close I don't think either team really won by a mile because both are getting value from the trade that's pretty close. But I do think toronto won this trade and I'll give a few reasons why.
1. Nick Robertson - looking at camp and the bubble and playoffs can you honestly tell me that Kapanen out performed Robertson a lot today if at all actually. There like the same skill level just what Robertson lacks in speed he makes up with his drive and his shot. Can easily replace Kapanen next year I'm not worried.

2. The leafs cleared 3 mill in cap and if they trade Nylander and Holl that's roughly 12 mill they get rid of and can easily use in a trade like this.

That's 10 mill in and with Kapanen it's 15 mill out. Gives us about 5 mill to go out and sign a defensmen to play with muzzin. Yes our fowards take a hit but we get a very good defensive defensmen that is responsiblez. Lines going into next year if we resign rfas and Spezza and let everyone else walk.

Kapanen can only play RW. He was tried at LW and couldn't do it. Robertson is a LW. Not sure where you were going with that one.

Dubas wouldn't make that trade lol.

Why does everyone hate Willy? Not a bad contract. Keep the core four and work the fringes thin to get the space needed for D. Better to cut from the edges rather than the core imo.
