The Kerfoot trade would be fair but I don't think Buff will be signed for a cheap contract as he turned down his 2 year $7.5 mil per contract as he knew he just couldn't perform. Before people post he wanted out of Winnipeg both sides never had a bad word to say about what happened so should he feel the need to play again I expect he will want an expensive contract, not a league minimum.

He did want out of Winnipeg. They had bad words lol. Maybe not before this year but when he dropped his stuff and walked out saying "he isn't sure if he wants to play" that facilitates bad blood. I'm sure that conversation did not go well. Throw in that he didn't say (presumably? ) That he needed major surgery and it's a bad situation.

Buff turned down the money because he probably doesn't care about the money. At a certain point guys like buff and Spezza just don't care about nickel and dining anymore.

I wouldn't sign Petro to a long term deal right now. He just may not be worth it soon.

IslandJet what the heck are you talking about? I would say you don't know your own team, but you do know then very well. The split from Winnipeg was not amicable at all. He left in bad terms. He will not be getting a huge contract after the stunt he pulled in Winnipeg. I would be surprised if another gm wanted to work with him again. But I said the same thing about Kovalchuk when he was looking to make his comeback and still got a job in the NHL again. It is a cutthroat business. If Buttfuklien wants to play for league minimum I'm pretty sure there is a gm somewhere willing to take him on.

LeafsLife where do you get your information about there being bad blood between the Jets and Buff? There was none at all just an agent trying to stir up something that Buff didn't pursue.
