I like the Wilson for Marner deal. Maybe you can get Washington to throw in a pick or AHL prospect. The cap savings would allow Leafs to sign a pretty good RHD

Yes. Exactly. We all know Marner is definitely the more skilled player. Wilson brings other qualities to the table that Marner cannot. They are both valuable players, for different reasons.

Edmonton and Washington seem to see the value in having guys like Wilson and Kassian play beside their top stars. And for good reason. If Edmonton wins the cup next, maybe Leafs will finally see the light?

I don’t mind this trade I think marner is more valuable then Wilson so might be more of an add but the caps still can’t afford this deal and the leaf still don’t shed enough cap to sign petro.

Do you think Washington would throw in Nick Jensen. He makes 2.5 for the next 3 seasons. Reasonable for a 2nd or 3rd pairing RD. This could help the deal happen for Washington. Ne need to sign Hamonic then.

Washington has cap issues. We would need to take a cap dump back.

I really like the idea though. I have for awhile. Less superstars more top 6 grit.

Wouldn't sign Petro. Someone like hamonjc would be a preference of mine.

Washington should add Jensen at least if they want Marner. I ike Wilson, but He is not worth Marner.
