Leafs trade Marner, Dermott, Andersen
Minnesota trades Fiala, Dumba, Stallock

Spurgeon was originally going to be the target. Then I noticed Nashville signed him to a ridiculous 7x$8M contract. And he's going to be 31 next season. Ridiculous contract paying him for past performance.

I would like a better goalie, I was going to say Dubnyk but I am not sure if he is better now.

I remember when Dubnyk first broke into the league as backup in Edmonton. I had no idea who he was. I watched a game and he got blown away. He let in like 6 or 7 goals. And he was still named one of the three stars. It could have easily been a 12+ goal game if Dubnyk didn't make so many spectacular saves. He faced over fifty shots, of which at least half were stellar high Danger scoring chances.

I just remember thinking I had to look ok this monster up. He was a lot bigger than the average goalie was back then. Goalies have gotten a lot bigger now, but 10 years ago, he was one of the only real big guys. I was so sure he was going to be a star. And for the most part, I would say he's done pretty damn good for himself. I went with Stallock over Dubnyk just cause I think Dubnyk might be on his way out. Stallock has good numbers and looks capable of running a solid tandem with Campbell. I think Leafs should switch to a tandem format. It seems to be the way the NHL is going these days. Dubas is so progressive in changing everything else, but he still hangs his goalie out to dry for 60+ games facing 40-50+ shots a night. Ike is this the one area that is rapidly changing that he can't adapt to? Or is it because it's not his idea? You tell me. There has to be a reason why he has changed every aspect of the game, except for embracing a tandem goalie solution, insisting on working Andersen like a mule.
