Ilya mikyev is skating and could return come playoff time. If that happens.

Johnson and Justin Holl to Columbus for a 1rst round pick. Plug Johnson's spot with Clifford or mason marchment on the 3rd left wing.

Hyman Matthews Nylander
Mikyev Tavares Marner
Marchment Kerfoot Kapanen-if not trafed
Clifford Gauthier Spezza

Only happens of course if mikyev has a full speedy recovery and ready for playoffs

So. No one replaces Holl?

Holl would be replaced by another Defenceman from another team. Maybe a small trade before trading for Holl

Or this.

Reilly Barrie
Muzzin Dermott
Sandin Marincin

Here’s a question now who would you either have on the bottom pair. Marincin or Ceci?

Holl is not going anywhere, he has been one of the Leafs better defensemen since the coaching change. They Leafs even re-signed him as they saw the value he was bringing. Defencemen to get are in the following order from highest liklihood to lowest

Ceci
Dermott
Barrie
Muzzin
Holl
Liljegren
Sandin
Rielly

With the bottom 5 not going anywhere.

Agreed. Marincin in for Holl is just brutal. That's a non playoff team a lot of the time. Ceci looks like a Norris winner compared to Marincin a lot of nights.

Makes no sense.

Mikheyev is a good player. Much better than I thought he was going to be. It’s nice to hear he’s skating again. There is no way he is back before deadline though. Which means we have to plan like he is gone for the rest of the year. It was his arm/ wrist that got injured. Not his legs. So I can understand him skating again so soon. But is he just skating? If he’s not using a stick, which I doubt he is, then he’s still a long way away from returning. Lord knows he’s not in full practice and taking hits and running plays. It’s going to be a long return for him still. In the meantime I can understand why he is keeping his legs warm by skating. I really hope he comes back soon. He is another Hyman type player. The exact type we all like and appreciate.

Leafs believe they are contenders for the cup this year. There is no chance they will trade two roster players for a puck. And why trade Holl just to make a trade for another defenseman to replace him? May as well just keep what we already got. The guys you were going to trade for his replacement can be used for another target instead.
