just an idea.
to toronto - pick number 4 and fayne
to edmonton - pitts first, gardiner

whta do you think. edmonton sheds a salary (lou loved fayne in NJ), toronto moves up

The Oilers trade that pick to a team with a lot of depth at D. Gardiner might be something they're interested in but the Leafs want to keep him. He's a puck moving D with great Corsi numbers. Not worth it IMO based on what is available at 4 (I've seen Juolevi and he looks very good; younger version of Jake I would say). I would hope they could go after a Chychrun if he falls out of the top 10.

The only way Edmonton trades that pick is if they trade down to 6-8 with their first choice being Olli Juolevi and if he happens to go ahead they will take Jakob Chychrun.

When they bring in a top 2-4 defensemen they will be trading one of their top six forwards, plus likely their second round pick.

It will be RHN, Eberle or Hall and maybe their second pick for defensemen.
