Yes so quiet in leafland like dbf says. what is brewing? speculate. leafs will keep the 1st overall pick
And try everything to move into the top 7 to grab one of the dmen.
Pens 1st caps 2nd in play. prospect like kapanen and Percy . would those four pieces be enough? Or would their own 2nd be needed also?
I have been a leaf fan for many years. this management team is finally giving me hope!
Should be a fun ride these next few months!

I don't get it! Leaf fans are incredulous to the idea of trading Matthews to Arizona, no matter what the return! Let me be clear, Matthews is going to be a star in the NHL and Leafs would need a significent over payment to even think about trading him.
But, put yourself in Coyotes situation. The franchise is in trouble and its survival is hanging in the balance. It has new owners and plans for a new arena but needs a hook to attract viability. Enter Auston Matthews, charamatic, supremely talented and more than anything a hometown boy. Think for a minute, Coyotes are probably more interested in long term survival than making the playoffs in the next couple of years. When you invest half a billion dollars, that will always be the case.
So, what's to say arizona bites the bullet and makes Leafs an offer they can't refuse.
OEL, Strome and the 7th overall would be an over payment but not as crazy as some people might think!

Sid Slam, it's like I have a little Angel on one shoulder and a Devil on the other as I go back and forth about "Should we KEEP MATTHEWS / OR / at least listen to TRADES.
,
IF we were to even consider dealing Matthews to Arizona, we would START the conversation with -
To Tor - OEL, Strome, the #7 OA this year, #22 this year
To Arizona - #1 OA this year, #31 this year
(Switching our #31 for their #22)
So, in addition to OEL and STROME, we would get #7 & #22 this year.
YES, I agree it's a lot but that's what I would need to at least CONSIDER trading MATTHEWS to Arizona.
Your thoughts??

The key player in this deal is Oliver Ekman -Larson. In any other place but Phoenix, he would be a perenial Norris candidate and in Toronto, he would be a shoe in. The thing is he's only 26 years old and he's IMO top 5 in the league. Allows Leafs to trade one of their offensive blueliners for help elsewhere. I doubt, under any other circumstances, would he be made available. If Coyotes were to make that offer as you outlined it, Leafs should not hesitate to run with it.

OEL, Strome, Domi, and 7th is only way Leafs do this. Matthews is franchise centre. only way you move him is if you fleece the other team very badly
