Leafs draft Auston Matthews 1st overall, if we don't get the #1 pick trade up in the draft using our other picks.
Sign Stephen Stamkos on similar contract to Teows/ Kane contract.
Sign Luke Schenn to 2 year 2.5 -3 million per year
Trade Kadri, 2nd rdp to St. Louis for Kevin Shattenkirk

Komarov Laich Michalek
Soshnikov Holland Grabner

Shattenkirk Rielly

There are a few flaws with this plan, like the goaltending situation, what are we going to do with contracts like Lupuls, Robidas. Also we have so many young players like Connor Brown, Kapanen, Gauthier, etc. But we have so many players there may not be room for them on our roster. It's possible we could use some of these players to package a deal for a solid goalie such as Phillies Neuvirth or Mason or Detroits Howard or Mrazek. But in my opinion this is a good rough plan with deals that are fair to all parties. St Louis has expressed interest in Nazem Kadri and are willing to part ways with Shattenkirk, and in my opinion Shattenkirk is one of the most underrated defenseman in the league, Stamkos would receive a contract that he deserves, while playing with the team he has dreamed of playing for his whole life.

Most leafs fans didn't like the guy but he's a shut down dman, paired with Gardiner it would give them some balance. When he was on philly their coach said he was their best defenseman. Luke Schenn is a good fit to our team

Luke Schenn is a decent 3-4 defenceman who'll hit. Would be a decent signing.

I wouldn't give up on Kadri, he's improving in a lot of areas; except acting! I would ship Bozak instead.

I doubt Stamkos is signing here. He wants cups.

Schenn is slow and a total bust of a draft pick. We STOLE JVR from Philly. Every coach talks up a player when he's being offered; does Babs and Lou talking about Phaneuf ring a bell?

Yah there's some flaws with this plan. The obvious being whoever picks first isn't trading Matthews without another mortgaging their future. Toronto has done that enough thank you. Luke Schenn will not be returning to Toronto thankfully. Why would trade Kadri for a guy who is an ufa next year.

And Toronto is home for stamkos, winning a cup in Toronto would make him a god and a legend, he would most definitely want to sign here, especially with the direction the organization is headed, with Babcock and all of our draft picks and such

That's great for LA. Let them sign him. No one else wants him. And I read your post fine. I'm not illerilate. You talked about trading up if you don't get the #1 pick. I'm assuming you are talking about trying to get the first pick. You either win the draft and pick auston Matthews or not. You don't trade up for auston Matthews because no one is moving him
