Pretty nasty trade idea I’ve been thinking about.

Toronto Maple Leafs end up with Josh Norris as their 2C, and Jack Quinn skating on the RW in the second line.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Sabres get William Nylander on their first line right wing, yeah, the same guy who “doesn’t want to leave Toronto”.

And Toronto still gets a 1st-round pick on top of that, either in 2026 or 2027 (preferably 2026).

Honestly, it’s a pretty aggressive move, but the Leafs’ roster would look way more balanced right out of the gate.

Got a feeling one of these three, William Nylander, Matthew Knies, or Easton Cowan is getting moved before the season starts. And if that happens, Toronto might actually come out of it with a much more logical lineup.

Jack Quinn, I think has a great future in the NHL and with another player like Doan or McLeod or Benson, I do that deal. But Josh Friggen Norris? The most injured man in the NHL... no way. To much of a risk.

When healthy he’s worth it, but the injury risk makes the contract a gamble.

Sometimes even Josh’s bad luck has to end. Otherwise, the guy will be playing more than 70 games at a point-per-game pace in the upcoming season...Benson is nice but no thanks.

It has nothing to do with contract risk. It has everything to do with giving up potentially only ending up with one healthy player and a first.

Neither Knies or Cowan will be traded.
