Not a fan of trading brodie at all. Unless your packaging him with Nylander and Samsonov to Nashville for Sarros, Trenin and a first.

Why on earth would you get Saros, Trenin AND a first for Brodie, Nylander and Sammy, all on expiring deals? Saros alone is a top 5 goalie and has been for years now.

I don’t see Greenway as being a better asset than McMann, Steeves or Abruzzese.
Greenway is drastically overpaid for what he brings to the team.

The Leafs had a potential trade partner at the draft in the Rangers.
Moving off a bad signing in Mrazk.
All they had to do was add Sandin and the return was Gorgiev and a playoff bystander Kakko.
Instead Gorgiev is not around but Kakko is and would look good on wing with Taveras and Nylander.
The cost...Sandin.

Leafs should inquire about these two Defense.
Anton Stralman from Pheonix.
He plays 20 min a night is a plus 1 on a horrible team.
Chara from the Islanders. He plays 18 min a night and is also a plus player on a struggling team.
Both players could be had fairly cheap and cost little.
Leafs could then move Dermott in a separate deal.
Playing both these new Defense less minutes on a better team and less minutes for Holl and Lil much better Leaf team.

The reason I'm disagreeing with so many lately is the same reason I don't agree here, Dubas needs a top 4 D.
I can't believe no one pointed out Holl falling down in the crease or Muzzin just getting outworked in front of the net vs the Flames but that's what happened.
Holl needs to go and someone at least marginally better needs to come in.

I definitely don’t want Chara. He is simply not at all close to what he was.
There are better options.
Stralman offers more interest to me but is costly and thus prohibitive.

let me first say that everyone is entitled to a Leaf fantasy trade but there is no way Dubas is making a blockbuster this far into the season.
I expect he will tinker but the names mentioned here in these posts are just fantasy trades.
Holl, Dermott, Richie, Engvall, Robertson and every pick past the first round will be available meaning he is all in with this group and willing to take back bad contracts to be buried if he gets someone that fits.
Teams that I think Dubas is talking to now are Pheonix, L.A, NYL.
Anders Lee has 10 goals and is a +1 on a bad team. reuniting him with Tavaras would provide another big body and leader. take on Chara also who is averaging 18min a game and also a +1.
Toronto can offer Dermott, Engvall and Richie.

It fun to suggest moves but lets be honest. The ONLY chip Arizona will entertain is Mathew Niess for Keller but not straight up so fill in the blanks.

I like Toews leadership and a fresh start at this point in his career also really like Perry. Robertson should be moved as if he is destined to be a 3rd line player then he has no use for Toronto. The defense is NOT a top 10 in the league and my thought is just make the Tanev trade and over pay for Pesche or even better Slavin. If Carolina is willing then how about this.
Slavin for Robertson, Samsonov and Lil. If Toronto make the conference finals add a 2nd. Make the cup add a first.

For Toronto i like it but i dont see Dubas losing another first this deadline. And if he sends players packing from this roster it will be a bottom three forward not kerfoot.

I think two players Dubas should pursue are Greenway & Middleton from Minnesota. Big winger & Big Defense. Minn6want cheaper more cost effective in return.
