Leafs - nylander, Liljegren, Woll
Hawks- '19 1st ( Byram) and Saad
Leafs gain a little cap space while adding some grit and a left winger in Saad. They also get a highly touted d prospect who had the potential to be a top 1/2 dman. Chicago gets a scoring forward, a good/very good d prospect who may be able to crack the lineup next season And with Chicago drafting boquist last year and Jokiharju the year before their blue line is getting younger. Chicago also gets a good goalie prospect who put up good numbers in the NCAA. He'd be by far Chicago's best goalie prospect. I'm aware that Dubas said "he wouldn't trade nylander" but What ya think?

Leafs trade- nylander and borgman or Rosen
Jackets- Panarin, Murray and conditional 1st
Leafs get a ufa left winger, young defensive d man who in my opinion plays a Brent seabrook style that will compliment Rielly we'll. Also a conditional 1st if Panarin doesn't resign with leafs. Panarin wants to play in a big market with modelling opportunity for his wife which TO can provide and if he doesn't want to stay leafs get the pick
Columbus gets a very good young winger to replace Panarin as it doesn't look like he'll want to resign with them and a depth defenceman.

I like this. Nylander if not signed becomes an expensive asset
Panarin even half year with that first is better Han a wasted asset in my opinion.
It's like being denied by the person you really like to go to the prom . Your second choice comes along and even though they may not be relationship material at least you get one hell of a one night stand plus you get to go to prom.
That's Panarin. not a long term solution but one hell of a prom date. getting to the prom is the goal. not marriage.

That’s a huge offer. Columbus would jump on this I’m sure. Columbus doing well, so the 1st would be late. Probably somewhere in the 20’s. Murray is looking good this year. Maybe he is finally reaching potential? I don’t know.
We aren’t paying Nylander, so if he sits for a year, he’s the one who loses out, not us. I would rather trade him off and bring home some fat for us. This trade adresses a couple needs: shores up LW, gives us another quality defenseman to replace Gardiner, and we get the extra pick. Sure it’s a lot for these guys. It’s a “win now†trade, and still gives us a little extra for future. May be worth pursuing.

Leafs panthers deal
Leafs- Matthews, Gardiner
Florida- Barkov and Ekblad
Leafs get a top end two way center who I think is a more consistent as far as staying healthy and a defenceman struggling to live up to his potential who could use a change in scenery. Leafs get cap stability and 2 very good players. Florida is having another disappointing season and need to change something up so they trade for a elite/franchise centerman who if he can stay healthy is a game changer and they get a offensive dman who over the last few seasons has put up good numbers and they can afford to resign them both.
Matthews>Barkov
Ekblad>gardiner
Maybe some 2 or 3 round picks to be added but is it close as far as value?

An injury prone star forward for an injury prone star defenseman? It’s not like Barkov has been the healthiest player either.
I don’t think either team wants to make this trade.

Kopitar and Doughty for Crosby And Letang back in 2011
Would you make that deal? Very tough call.
That's basically this kind of deal for 2018
LA is FLA and Tor is Pitt. injuries and potential UFA (letang in 2011) for 3 good signed contracts on guys who get hurt. Doughty was injury prone once apon a time and Crosby was injured a lot too.
Just a food for thought
Plus I don't have a real answer so this is my way of deflecting the question. lol.

Vegas- Theodore
Leafs get a top 4 two way d man that's young and on a good contract. Vegas gets a young goal scorer that they can afford and need with the loss of Neal this off season.

It’s a good suggestion, but I don’t think Theodore is the guys for us. It’s unsaid, but I assume Gardiner gets dumped after the acquisition of Theodore?
Vegas would have to add. Theodore is a decent player, but Vegas gave him that huge contract after only a single good year of play. It’s risky. I mean, Theodore doesn’t hit much, doesn’t block a whole lot of shots, not the most gifted offensively.
Vegas would have to add. Nic Hague throw in maybe would do it?

Leafs- Nylander
Preds- Fabbro and 2019 1st.
Preds are stacked on d and are looking for scoring which nylander can provide. Fabbro has no imidiate impact this year which if nylander doesn't sign than neither does he (for the leafs anyways), but if fabbro can reach his potential he'd be a solid two way defender that the leafs could use, he's cheap and they get the first to compensate for the fact that nylander is currently nhl ready. I don't think thenleafs cup window has opened I think it starts next year, so if Liljegren and fabbro can make the team next year the leafs d will be significantly improved hense their window opens

With Fabbro's questionable knee, i'd rather snag Thomas or Kyrou. I like the idea of trading with STL though, they have tons of forward prospects and are in win-now mode. Seems like a good fit.

Preds would have to add. If they threw in a useful piece like Jarnkrok or someone along those lines, I think Leafs would have to seriously consider this offer. It would save us money, provide us with a roster player, a prospect, and a 1st.

I like it, but add in Hartman and a clause if Fabbro does not sign the Leafs get an extra pick.
He is currently in college and not signed.
