We just saw what Jeff Skinner got an the trade market. I have to think Max in Montreal is a comparable

Car- Skinner
Buf-Pu, 2nd 2019, 3rd + 6th 2020

Tor- Korshkov, 2019 2nd, 3rd + 6th 2020

People were pretty high on panarin as a rental but he would be very expensive. This is an inexpensive former 39 goal scorer.

1.) 08 Aug 2018 06:42:16
If Montreal was foolish enough to make this trade, Leafs should jump all over it.

2.) 09 Aug 2018 01:03:33
Have to think Montreal would rather keep Pacioretty than make this trade.

The leafs addressed one of their two needs this offseason already by adding a center. Now all the leafs need is a body on the right side of the defence.

The leafs have a lot of players on the left side and could look at moving one for a right handed shot.

Tor- Gardiner, 2019 1st, prospect
Win- Trouba

Trouba has stated that he wants to play top line minutes and although he now seems happy in Winnipeg he would get more time in Toronto.

And on a separate thought could you guys imagine if the leafs could sign the sedins for 1 mil 1 year each to try for a cup.

1.) 11 Jul 2018 12:55:49
The only issue is what kind of contract does Trouba want and then what the Leafs need to do to fit it in next year. This year is fine, but the following year is the crunch year. Trading away Horton's deal is a must, Marleau may be forced out as well. Trading Zaitsev would be an option if this happens.

2.) 11 Jul 2018 19:00:20
Trouba is too expensive and too injury prone. Would rather see what Ozhiganov can do before throwing ignorant bucks at a guy that has only played one full season in five years, and that was three years ago.

3.) 12 Jul 2018 00:45:23
The only issue with this trade is that it is nowhere close to being enough for Trouba.

4.) 12 Jul 2018 01:43:07
The 2 Sedins with Brown as Leafs 4th line is an interesting twist and really innovative.
It gives them one last shot at a Stanley Cup that they came so close to back in 2011.

5.) 12 Jul 2018 03:24:35
I don’t know why the spellcheck on this site is so messed up. Was supposed to say “big” bucks. Not sure how “big” gets turned into “ignorant”. Either way, my point is made I guess.

6.) 12 Jul 2018 06:17:11
That offer is nowhere near enough for Trouba.

Brown-free agent-kapanen

Promote the first line of the Marlies to the 4th line and keep the chemistry together.

Promote sparks to backup so we don't lose him for nothing.

Need a center and a defenseman. Main trade bait would be Gardiner and our first. I think we should package those two pieces together for the best defensive defenseman available for that price.

For third line center sign Stastny. Nash would be a good second option. Would be great for Tavares but he would get paid much better elsewhere.

Tor-Gardiner, 2018 1st
Ana- Manson
There would be more parts to those trades but those are the base parts.

1.) 19 Jun 2018 05:08:33
I would take Nash before I would sign Stastny.

Of the three players you suggested trading Gardiner for, Manson is the only one I would want, but I doubt Anaheim would be wanting Gardiner in return. They will be wanting a forward (Nylander) .

2.) 20 Jun 2018 02:22:28
Gardner and Leafs 1st for Klefbom?
Gardner is as good as Klefbom and they are both LHD.
Why would the Leafs do this on top of giving away their 1st round pick?

Gardner and Leafs 1st for Tanev who spends as much time in the hospital as he does on the ice?

Gardner and Leafs 1st for Manson?
Why would the Ducks trade away their most defensively responsible RHD for a defensively irresponsible LHD?

03 Jun 2018 16:13:22
Anahaeim has Kesler out long term while he relearns how to walk. Could Toronto capitalize and flex their financial muscles.

Ana- Kesler, manson
Tor- 2018 1st, carrick or zaitsev

Anaheim is a team that cannot afford to pay Kesler 7 million to do nothing. Toronto puts him on ltir and gives Anaheim a right handed defenseman to replace Manson.

1.) 03 Jun 2018 16:31:41
Kesler has a no movement clause so he says stay or go highly doubt he says go
Ducks could put him on ltir but Kesler is a stubborn sob so he may play just to show the world he is Thor.
He is such a jerk when he does play but if it means we get Manson then I am all for it.

2.) 03 Jun 2018 16:52:06
It's certainly interesting, but most NHL contracts are insured against injury. It he qualifies for LTIR, Anaheim does not have to pay him, the insurance I believe would cover it.

Nathan Horton was a rare case, as for whatever reason his contract was not insured. I don't know if Kesler's is or not for sure, but most contracts are.

3.) 03 Jun 2018 17:04:43
Why are we giving them a 1st if we are doing that kind of favor.

4.) 03 Jun 2018 18:17:56
And what happens when old man Kesler comes back? Do you really want to get stuck with him for four years at $7M for someone with a hip replacement?

Toronto has had enough of playing the Long Term Injury Retirement game. We need to move on from the Horton’s and Lupol’s and start bringing in guys that can play for their money.

5.) 03 Jun 2018 18:22:08
Um well maybe they don’t want absolutely nothing for the leafs kidnaping Manson?

6.) 03 Jun 2018 19:21:06
I like very much the original thought vancream.
But original thought and thinking outside the heavy favoured leaf trades box syndrome prevalent on this site doesn’t fly with most of the narrow minded geniuses who reply but don’t dare to post anything from their own minds👽

Leafs sign Calvert 🤡.

7.) 03 Jun 2018 19:36:48
Kesler is finished 🏌️‍♀️
Despite Lou being gone he left the ferry to Robidas island at the MLSE dock. and there is always room for more. why do you say Toronto has had enough of the LTIR game. I’m from Toronto and I love it. so don’t speak for the rest of us original outside the box thinkers😎
If it means getting Manson I do that deal every day of the week. buyouts are still allowed. $2425000 per year for 4 years and $2250000 per year for 4 years after that. an 80 million cap no problem. it doesn’t matter he can’t walk or twist his hips.

28 May 2018 04:48:31
Tor- 2018 2nd, 2019 2nd, Carrick
Edm- Klefbom

Tor- Gardiner, Nylander, 2018 1st
LA- Doughty

Sign Riley Nash

1.) 28 May 2018 16:06:20
I really like how this would end up, my 1 concern is edmonton would want an impact winger who is ready for the line up now, so maybe keep the 2019 2nd rounder and give lievo and a 4th instead.

Doughty I think would need an added future. use the 2019 2nd rounder as a conditional pick. 1st if he resigns, 2nd if leafs make cup final, 3rd otherwise.

And 100% on Riley Nash. Resign him for 2.8m-3.5m for 3 year.

2.) 28 May 2018 19:29:31
Doughty should be the Leafs number one target. He is exactly what we need, and would make us instant contenders. Henerally agreed to be one of the best three defensemen in the world, he is heading to UFA end of next season, and it might be in Leafs best interest to try and make a trade for him and lock him up before he hits the market.

I think what you are offering here is pretty close to what would be a reasonable trade. If we are offering up Nylander though, then I would insist that a contract would be in place to secure Doughty first.

LA may trade Doughty if they can’t come to terms with him. He’s asking to be highest paid defenseman in the works. That sounds expensive. Leafs can afford him still. Not too many other teams can.

Wasn't me either. I'm all about trading for a big physical defenseman that can clear the front on the net.

I would disagree Parayko is a great young defenseman on a good contact. Toronto would have to overpay to get him but he's big young and talented and played with reilly on team north America and they were amazing together.
