I don't know if Matthews has the toughness in the playoffs if Arizona wins the lottery Leafs trade Matthews to Arizona for the first overall pick and Dylan strome

Arizona wouldn’t do that. Strome still has decent potential but Dahlin could very well get better than Matthews.

Are you guys actually being serious about trading Matthews? Lmfao. How come no one mentioned anything last post season? Not every player is going to have a standout post season. He's 20 years old, he's a franchise centremen and there's no way any GM would trade him.

Mathews is 20 years old and already an elite centre in the league. He will continue to learn and grow into one of the top players in the league. Pittsburgh can be thankful that the pens didn't trade Crosbey as a 20 year old the first time they failed in a cup finals (2008). Yes, he was over matched against a 32 YO Bergeron and a 29 YO Marchand. That likely won't happen again as they are having an incredible season against everyone ( see TBL game #1). How different would the series have been with Tavares (27 YO) as the #1 centre with Marleau and Marner instead of Kadri?

I agree. Stop with the Matthews not being tough enough. Who cares.
Yes they need more grit, starting on the back end. And next year Anderson needs to be solid in playoffs like he was at times during regular season.
I still think they need to somehow try and get Tavares.

Get a #1 centre in a deal? They went without one for years before drafting Matthews because none were available via trade. If it was so easy to get on, don't you think they would have done so? grab a clue.

Trading Matthews for Strome and Dahlin is not a good idea.
Strome is nowhere as good as Matthews. Dahlin might work out as a franchise defenseman, but who knows? Look at how many projected franchise players have been busts over the years. That alone tells you it’s not worth the gamble.
Our biggest need before we got Matthews was a top line center. Our biggest need after a top pairing RHD is still center. If we trade Matthews, we have no one to be our top line center. Kadri? Ha. Strome. Ha.
Our best bet to land a top pairing RHD is to trade or sign one next off season when there are going to be so many excellent players available.
