Sandin is only 19 and not ready for top 4 minutes or #1 PP. he and Liljegren are not ready for anything more then what they are getting right now. They are making to many mistakes right now, mostly Sandin, Liljegren is more patient and plays a safe game and that’s what we need right now from those two, just play it safe, don’t try to do to much. I think that maybe Sandin is reading some of the social media stuff and he’s believing that he’s more ready, and better then he actually is at the moment and time.
That just isn’t the case. Rielly is our best D man when fully healthy, unfortunately he hasn’t been healthy thus season very much at all. He had been playing hurt, but he us our best D man, then it’s Muzzin followed by Dermott then it’s the two kiddies, but only in limited usage, Sandin may be overused as is already. He needs to just quiet his game down and he’ll do better.
If the Leafs could get two D men heading into the playoffs and down the stretch I would be much happier. I don’t see how the Leafs fit Savard under the cap next season if they could get him and Manson, but if in one if those two trades Barrie headed out the other way, thus season, it would be nice to get those two, and once Rielly returns that gives us the 1st pairing of Rielly and Manson, a 2nd pairing of Holl and Muzzin and to round it out the two kids can switch in and out with Dermott on the 3rd pairing.
This would give the boys experience before the playoffs begin and thus would really help the team out greatly in case if an injury. Go Leafs Go.

I agree that Johnsson and Dermott is an overpayment for Manson, Dermott didn’t start the season with everyone else and he didn’t have any summer time training either, he’ll be much better next season. Let’s not get carried away, the kid just turned 23 and most D men are either just starting their NHL careers at that time. Give him time, he’ll be fine, he’s very young still. Liljegren and Sandin need time to develop into top 4 D men, they aren’t there yet not by a long shot. Just be patient. Johnsson and a mid level pick, or prospect, such as Bracco even, but definitely not Dermott. Send them Ceci for free, no return required.

Some fans who don’t know hockey have been trading this kid forever, this has got to stop now or these guys need to learn at least a little about this game. This would be the worst trade the Leafs have ever made and that’s saying a whole lot for the Leafs, they have had some real big thinkers as GM’s in their time, LMFAO.
