Pens: Sprong, Rust, a 1st (2018) and a 2nd (2019)

Leafs: Marner
Thoughts?

Not a chance penguin fan.
Sprong is an average prospect and Rust is always undesirable.
The 1st and 2nd will be more like a 2nd and a 3rd as they are so late.
Marner is still adjusting to the NHL; he will only get much better.
He's not going anywhere.

Leafs say no right away. Marner for an average prospect, another average player, a late 1st rounder and a 2nd? Replace Marner with Bozak and that package is more believable.

No all day long. But to say Sprong is an average prospect isn’t accurate, he’s got too 6 potential and 30 goal potential. If that’s average, what’s good? In 14 games in his first season in the AHL he’s got 9 goals and 5 assists, not a bad start. I’m a Leafs fan but there’s a lot on here about Bracco being elite, if Bracco is elite, Sprong is superstar. Re-evaluation needed here, Leafs fans drop the biased perspective.
Again though, NO all day everyday for Marner. He’s staying put.

He's now got a point a game which is admirable and probably lucky. His junior stats are average with the exception of the his playoff numbers which are good.
Way to early to say he'll produce in the NHL, on just 14 AHL games. There are a lot of 40-50 pt AHL's that don't make it.
He's average until he does something to prove he's not. If he was better, he'd have been up with the cap strapped Penguins.
