Kapanen is likely going to get a bridge deal, I’m guessing 2 years for a total of 5.5 mill (2.75 AAV)
Johnsson I’m guessing gets around 12 million for 4 years (3 AAV) .
The leafs let Hainsey and Ennis walk, we can re-sign Ozhiganov or bring up Liljgren, and we can bring up some Marlies forwards as well.

Huge overpayment on Kapanen and Johnsson. Bob McKenzie indicated last night those deals would be in the low $2's for Johnsson and mid to high $2's for Kapanen.
I think the deals for Marner and Matthews make sense, although I would prefer Marner to be less than $10, around $9 to $9.5.

Because this gives Carolina a lot more flexibility they could move aho back to the wing their top 2 center would be Staal and kadri and it allows necas to play a better role rather thank be thrown up against other teams top line.

While watching the Leafs and Ducks game tonight I thought we might have a good trade partner here in Anaheim...
To Ducks: Nylander, Ennis, Leivo
To Leafs: Montour, Ritchie, Kase
Lines-

Ritchie-Kadri-Kase
Johnsson-Lindholm-Brown
Rielly-Montour

Ritchie adds grit and I really like Kase's game and he scored 20 goals last year for the ducks. And obviously Montour is the main part of this deal. And dealing Anaheim Leivo and Ennis it adds some depth for them because a lot of there guys are out with injury.

Here's problem dealing with Ducks now.
With Fowler out 8 weeks they had to play 3 rookies on blue line last night. It is going to be tough if not near impossible to get Montour or Manson (my choice) out of there in next two weeks unless they decide to take couple steps back for future. Their 7th dman is Luke Schenn. Not much depth. Hope they can still get Manson.
I am changing my focus to Flyers.

Sanheim may not contribute as much this year as future years but I think would be good get.
They may not want to give up Konecny and offer someone like Laughton. Watched Laughton play for Generals for 4 years. Played for DJ Smith.
Konecny offers more offensive upside than Laughton who is little more well rounded.
Sanheim is focus here.

Absolutely not enough good things to say about Manson. And if I wasn’t in a rush to get to the gym right now, I would say them all.
Ritchie not living up to high expectations in Anaheim, and the contract dispute and holdout this year may mean he’s on the block. Kase is a damn good olayer.
If Anaheim would make this trade, Leafs would be foolish not to accept it. That Manson, I mean wow. I would pack Nylander’s bags and kiss him goodbye for making this trade a possibility.

Ha! Was in a rush to get to work and got confused between proposals. Someone mentioned Manson in an earlier post and I got mixed up here. Of course, Montour is a very high quality defenseman himself. Rated top 50. Real sleek skater. Still young and on a good contract, he’s controllable for many years. Mo tour is absolutely welcome on the team, and if Anaheim would make this trade then Leafs would be better off for it.

Aniheim deal also you are right. Getting one of their best 2 RHD right now may be hard with Fowler out. might be too late for a Nylander deal to happen once Fowler gets back. still a good team to deal imo.
Manson a beast and great player. get him and never look back.

I think you have to get rid of Nylander. No training camp will have missed almost two months of season when he does sign. He will so far behind from a skill and timing stand point. Leafs must move him.

Ok. This is different. A mega-trade Cliff Fletcher style. Lol. You’ve outdone yourself with this one Craigger.
First off, you picked all the right guys we should be trading. And I like the thought of bringing in some experienced players off a Stanley Cup winning team.
Now, the bad: Most of the guys coming back are pretty old, and signed short term. And Vilardi has recurring back problems that is delaying his development and could prevent him from making any meaningful impact in the NHL, if he ever even makes it.
I like your thinking, but I think Leafs balk at this one. I think if Leafs move any of these guys, it would be for picks and prospects only. Guys who will be around for a while, not just one or two year rentals. We already have Marleau and Tavares for veteran leadership. Bringing in all those other guys kinda gives us with too many chiefs and not enough indians.

Leafs need to add on this Philly trade. Konecny is almost Nylander’s level as is. We might get Hagg or the second thrown in to top up, but not all four pieces.
Frost is looking super. Philly really does have one of thw best prospect pools going, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they make the jump to cup contenders very soon.

Leafs definitely should be trading Nylander. He’s made Dubas look like a fool. Ungrateful, selfish, and not a team player, Dubas needs to set an example for the rest of the team.
Nylander is all about the money, and that’s not what it should be all about. It should be about winning a damn cup for crying out loud. It’s not like Dubas is low balling him either. From what I’ve read the offer is reasonable and fair. And the difference in salary could be made up by Nylander in endorsements. Once we trade him to a bottom feeding team where he has no chance at winning anything or making HOF, he will regret this decision for the rest of his life.

Kapanen has looked real good beside Matthews so I think that should be a lock for the whole season. And so with that being said whenever Nylander decides to return I think he should be on Kadri's line. Kadri's line lacks a zone entry threat and they are bad at staying in the offensive zone. And I think we should invest into Nylander because when Tavares' contract is up who's going to play second line center? It'll have to be Nylander.

We have seven years to invest in a center. My guess is we will be focusing on drafting for that position the next couple years. It’s not just Tavares that will need replacing. Kadri is getting older as well and is not at, or slightly above, the average age of NHL player, which means that once his contract is up, he will be on the down side of his career. It will be difficult to have Nylander shift to center position after having played him on wing for all this time.

We don’t need a star to play with Rielly. We need a guy who knows what he’s doing. I think Pysyk would be good. Like if Hainsey can play top pair minutes with Rielly just about any other decent defensemen can too.

Sandin was almost a point per game defensemen in a league that is harder to score in than Veleno. Veleno was just over a point per game. Sandin is defensively responsible and he is a fantastic skater and puck mover.

He drafted better than mark hunter has in the past. After the first 1 or 2 picks I questioned why he picked some players. Dubas did a nice job drafting, I would have liked to see more centres drafted by the Leafs but this draft was not very stacked down the middle.
