Babcock has said he'd like a couple bigger bodies up front. Mantha is off to a slow start and Ithere's rumors of a possible change of scenery.

Kapanen plus 2019 1st for Mantha?

Kapanen 1st round 22nd OA 22 years old
Mantha 1sr round 20th OA 24 years old
Kapanen has the speed and although a small sample size, the talent to play in the top 6. He is also 2 years younger. Mantha is a proven scorer but doesn't put up big point totals. He has size but apparently lacks intensity sometimes. I added the 1st because Mantha is more proven. Is it fair value wise?

Or ignore all of this and sign Nash when he's ready.

Kapanen is a game changer with his speed and skill. I would want to hold on to him personally.

A crappy defenseman for the generational player of all generational players? Are you mad?

2.) 21 Jul 2018 00:41:12
Clearly a Winnipeg fan trolling.

3.) 21 Jul 2018 01:14:02
This is a joke. You can’t be serious.

4.) 21 Jul 2018 03:08:40
Trouba is getting more expensive with every proposal.

5.) 21 Jul 2018 03:14:48
I can't imagine this is serious!
Just trying to stir the pot?

6.) 21 Jul 2018 04:26:02
Pretty sure that's a joke post.

7.) 21 Jul 2018 07:04:36
Don't feed the trolls.

That's how you get ants.

8.) 21 Jul 2018 16:15:09
Gauthier for Trouba

Because the original proposal has to have the appropriate counter proposal.

9.) 21 Jul 2018 19:49:06
- just to clear everything up, this was a post on the main page as a satirical post against a winnipeg fan who thought Trouba was worth everything and anything.

This is probably not the best proposal but I though that it would be an interesting idea.

Ladd and Pulock for JVR

The leafs take on a terrible contract that is going to look a lot worse in 5 years to get Pulock. Ladd obviously needs a fresh start. He has had a very good career and his #'s are pretty good other than this year. He has cup experience and could prove to be a great leader when the leafs are finally ready to compete. I don't know a lot about the young kids, but going by what you guys say I'm guessing Pulock is going to be good. NY gets a top LW to play alongside Tavares and start to shake things up. I'm not even sure the leafs can afford Ladd's contract when it comes time to sign everyone else. Is Pulock worth taking on a contract like that? Maybe someone adds?

No thanks

2.) 20 Dec 2016 03:26:46
Have you seen Ladd contract it's ok to take bad contract this year and next but that's all. You want 6 more years of Ladd?

3.) 20 Dec 2016 12:14:20
Thats an awful trade for the Leafs. Ladds contract is horrific.

4.) 21 Dec 2016 01:59:14
No team needs to bail the Islanders out from Garth Snow's stupidity.
They should have fired him a long time ago. No limo, no taxi; straight out the alleyway back door on his head.

Clutterbuck (29) 3.5M ext. for 5 years. He's a 3rd liner on a great day.

Grabbo, Kulemin, Ladd, Boychuk(Good Dman; but 32 yrs now, at 6M cap until 2022). I can just see him resign Taveras 8yrs 12 M.

I can also see everyone wanting off that team very soon.

And they don't even play on the damm island.

I wish they would've traded Kadri after the shortened season when he got 44 points in 48 games. They could've got a top 4 defenseman. He's a dirty little bitch. Just when he's starting to pick up his play he hurts his team with which will likely be a 3-5 game suspension. He had plenty of time to avoid that hit but he's a weasel. There's no need for players like him in the NHL.

Leafs17

1.) 06 Nov 2016 13:43:19
Disagree with you pal. He plays with grit and we need that. Although that hit was uncalled for it was a clean hit. Shoulder to shoulder.

2.) 06 Nov 2016 16:13:26
If you look at the image of the point of contact tweeter out by John Shannon it clearly shows that Kadri made contact with the body, not the head. He may have hit the head as he went through the check, but he made contact with the body.

3.) 06 Nov 2016 16:30:43
Wrong. Flat out wrong. Your hate for Kadri is blinding you to the actual play.

He doesn't have to avoid that hit, and it wasn't late. He just has to do it properly. There should be no suspension. At the point of contact his whole side of his body is in contact with the side of Sedins body, stick, and arm, and his skates are still on the ice. There is no head contact at the point of first contact. From the goalie side view, there is no head contact to the head at all. (Frame rate is poor).

Sedin lays there for a second; gets up on his knees looking for the penalty, sees the call; then starts milking it. Goes to the dressing room, flushes down all the acting, and then comes right back out. Best Swedish theatre I've seen in a while. Kadri should take lessons from him.

Kadri admittedly did not issue the check well, but it's a bang bang play.

Yes Kadri is the next re-incarnation of the "Rat". But he clearly has a place in this league(there are a lot of players just like him). Maybe one day the Sedins will stop trying to play victims all the time, and grow a pair.

4.) 06 Nov 2016 18:50:50
Kadri plays the game the way they did in the 70's. but Leaf17 wants only players who are soft and can't handle taking a hit. Rielly and kadri both made hard clean hits. the nucks are wimps because they are on a slippery slope to 30th with too many vets that nobody wants. if u want a cheap shot weasel look at the idiot burrows track record. hope martin cleans his clock when they play these clowns next. kadri soshnikov and martin start the next game vs the nucks!!

5.) 06 Nov 2016 20:31:15
BTW Leafs17 there was no suspension

6.) 06 Nov 2016 20:57:38
What u talking about man. It's a contact sport. This isn't golf! He got all shoulder in that hit. Just happen to be a blind sided but legal hit. Kadri is a big part of the leafs weather u like it or not. You need guys like him on your team. He's a pest but valuable to them. As Marchand is to Boston and Gallagher is for Montreal.

7.) 08 Nov 2016 19:40:43
I honestly don't get the Kadri haters. The kid is a good 2C; plays with grit and has talent. Why get rid of him? Makes NO sense. Teams need that kind of player to be successful. BTW it was a clean hit and no mention of the dirty spear on Rielly eh?

8.) 09 Nov 2016 22:11:04
This is my favourite version of Kadri I've seen yet. He no longer is looked upon for a "skill/point producer" he is secondary now and found the role he is best suited for. Hate Gallagher, hate Marchand, hate Shaw? All these players have a role and they play it well, we might have that in Kadri, bonus that he can score and make a play.

Just a different approach to the leafs acquiring a top defenseman. The Kapanen deals will not get it done. I was thinking of a Nylander/ Hamilton deal. Let me start by saying, I don't think Calgary does it but I also don't think the value is too far off. The leafs aquire a 22 year old, Toronto born 1-2 defenseman. Nylander looks like a very promising player in the 20 games he played but I think Toronto would be ok up front without him. It seems like a possibility Calgary could draft Nylander's brother which could make them the next Sedins. Both Nylanders were born in Calgary which would be nice to see also. I don't think Calgary does it because it leaves a hole in their defense and they have enough center depth already. They could try and bring Russell back? Toronto may have to add a defenseman to the deal? Do you guys think it's fair value at least, or can you think of another 1-2 defenseman they could target using real bait to get him?

No thanks, I doubt the Leafs have any thoughts of trading Nylander. They can acquire D without giving him up.

The leafs look like the leafs of old, hard to watch. Unfortunately, I don't think Babcock cares about toughness but what would it take to get Maroon if the oilers are sellers? Is Kapanen too much or too little for a UFA? I think Kapanen could be another good option on the wing for Edmonton, somewhere in the top 9.

He is Maroon'd in Oil Town. He's too greasy, and won't be able to slip out of town.

No thanks.

Maybe selling out Maple Leaf Gardens & the ACC for years has finally paid off. I guess they're paying him out of their pockets. The leafs get a 5 million cap relief and I have a Clarkson jersey to burn. Chirp is going to be furious, a good thing just happened to the leafs. Please leave enough space on the page for his rant.
