Toronto trades: Brown, Gardiner
Winnipeg trades: Myers, Perrault
Smt along these lines what do you think?

Gardiner for Myers is a no. Would rather have Gardiner, or trade him for futures.
Perrault for Brown is interesting choice. I don’t think Jets bite on it though. May I ask why you suggested that trade?

I'm not a fan of players that are nearing their 30's and have a tendency to suffer serious injuries and miss a lot of games every season.

I don’t hate this trade gets Horton off the books and we get the defenseman we need but I think taking out the picks makes it more fair as even though liljegren is still young tanev hasn’t shown he can stay healthy.

That is a terrible trade for the Leafs.
Leafs don't need Gandlund and Tanev is always hurt.
Leafs would be giving up two 1st round picks.
Liljegren (a 1st round) and 2019, 1st round.
That's back to the future, to the days of Nonis, Burke and John Fergusen Jr.
You must have relatives who work for the Canucks.

Anaheim trades: montour, 2nd round pick
Toronto trades: Nylander
What do you guys think? Maybe other pieces added

In a couple years, I think Montour will be proven enough to warrant a trade involving a player of Nylander’s caliber. Currently, having only played one full NHL season, he still remains a risk. I would offer a lesser package than a proven young star like Nylander. I would reserve Nylander for players who are more established and proven over a few years in the league (Ristolainen, Parayko, Dumba, Subban, Manson, etc) .

Something is going down in Carolina and I think leafs have trade partner in canes. Carolina have 25 million tied up in 5 defencemen plus they have Van Remsdyk sitting there as RFA. Leafs probably want a defencemen with max 2 years left they don’t want long term guy.
The question is what’s the cost on getting Faulk. 2019 first round pic and secondary prospect Timashov. I can’t see leafs handing over Kapanan Johnson or Grundstrum thoughts.

I don’t like getting a rental dman babs always says thy are trying to make a product that isn’t just good for a few years but something you can be proud of for a very long time. Keep in mind he coached a team that made the playoffs for 20 years straight.

Not a chance Lilgegren is moved for 20 games of Tanev
In fact Lilgegren won’t get traded with Dubas in charge.

I don’t think we need a partner for Gardiner, so much as a replacement for Hainsey to play with Reilly after next season.
Zaitsev is a pretty solid 2RHD, and will likely pair up with Dermott after Gardiner’s departure. Liljegren almost definitely won’t be ready for top line duties beside Reilly yet, which means we need a plug for 1RHD until Liljegren is ready.
Tampa has three defensemen hitting the market end of next season. including former Leaf Anton Stralman. If Leafs don’t make a trade for someone before then, we could maybe look at him.

Why would anyone who watches and jeers for the Leafs want to trade Liljegren, an 18 year old RHD with huge upside for an aging Tanev who spends more time on LTIR than he does playing each year.
Certainly not a Leaf fan!
