I understand that Leafs need a quality "RD" BUT IF they had a chance at ONE or BOTH (stop laughing)of the following from Colorado, here's what I would offer:
"C" - DUCHESNE
"LW" JVR, "D" CARRICK, "F" GRIFFITH
"LW" - LANDESKOG
"F" NYLANDER, "F" LIEPSIC, 3'RD /17
C Duchesne is top face-off guy, with speed - could play with Marner.
LW Landeskog @ 23 brings some physicality to his game in addition to his speed and offence to take the place of JVR
Yes, I know we need help on the "D" but we also need upgrading at "C" and "LW".
At Center we would have Matthews, Duchesne, Kadri, Gauthier (?)
Which Forward would you want (or Both) ??
The initial problem would also be the Cap hit difference but that's why we have Lou and his guys.
Would certainly give us strength down the middle - @ 24 and under.
Okay, your thoughts?

i think a deal could be made for Landeskog, but ultimately JVR would have to be involved in a separate trade. Leafs need a power forward that will take the body and has some decent skill, when they play heavier teams that have speed they get pushed around.

Avs still have 2 significant trade assets that they can use to get some younger D prospects.

JVR @ 50%
To Leafs:
2018 1st
Theodore
Nattinen
OR
To Canes:
JVR

Landeskog takes JVR's spot, we have more LD depth than on the right side, so the loss of Gards is more manageable.
I don't think he's worth more than that, and frankly I don't believe Lou would sell the farm for any player.
Leafs aren't making the playoffs this year.
Not sure what the canes would want for any of those dmen but they need some forward help, leafs have lots of winger depth and bracco isn't a massive loss.
what would you do big willie? I'm curious.

Different approach to picking up "RHD" such as Wpg - Jakob Trouba
Wpg in need of help - "LHD"
Leafs send LHD Gardiner plus pick or prospects
Wpg send "RHD" Trouba to Leafs.
We then put together a pkge to trade with Anaheim for LHD Theodore - young blue chip LD.

This forward line-up may not come up until about late Nov. or early Dec. depending on how the team is working out.
At some point we might see the following:
Marleau, Matthews, Kappenan
JVR, Nylander, Marner
Korolev, Kadri, Brown
Martin, Moore, Hyman
By the way, over the summer there has been much said about either benching or trading Matt Martin.
Many of you criticize because of his puny point total when in fact that is NOT why they got him.
When Martin is in our line-up the other team takes far less liberties (physical play) against our young team. He's not here to score or even fight for that matter, he's here to offer a presence IN CASE he is needed.
Our team is very young and without any protection, will play far less physical whereas now, they go full out without fear.
YES, Bozak's name is missing - sorry Ty, I think you're a good player but we need to get Nylander into his natural position at Center and also keep Kapenan up with the Leafs - he's earned it!

MarquesMen - I think Domi might be under too much pressure playing in Toronto. Expectations from the Fans would be sky high.
I'm sure he has more potential playing elsewhere.

Nylander "Magic" - without doing anything else, why would we even consider giving up one of our top four "D" guys (plus 3/ 4 of our team) just for one so-so "D" man.
Sorry man / woman but you are way, way out of line in how you rate players value. Personally, I have not interest in trading with Vancouver.

You forgot to include Matthews and Marner. May as well give them the whole damn team - for Garbage in return!
