If the Leafs accept this trade than two follow-up trades
Would you trade Zaitsev + Brown + 1st round draft pick for Manson + Ritchie
Ritchie + 2nd Round 2020 for Anderson of Columbus.

Hamilton is big. A little soft for a guy his size imo. I’d like to see him throw the body around a bit more.
Obviously an outstanding player. By no means is his inclusion on the team going to harm us in way. His contract is a little too short for my liking, but at this point, if we could get a player of Hamilton’s caliber, Leafs should jump on it. We either get a good player on short contract, or another Zaitsev. I think we can all agree that 3 years of Hamilton is worth far more than a decade of Zaitsev.

Value wise is fair. Cap wise is questionable. We would probably have to shed salary to accommodate Subban’s cap hit. Zaitsev would be packing his bags, and maybe someone else.
Easy yes if Leafs could figure a way to fit Subban’s $9M bucks in.

I think a better option would be to go for Ellis. Lower cap hit and can run the second pp and is a solid rhd.

Would rather just keep Gardiner than take on Myers.
Not to sound like a hypocrite, because I’ve posted the same proposal myself in the past, mainly out of frustration, but at the present, I am firmly against the Leafs making a move like this. If we trade Giveaway, it should be for futures: picks, and prospects. Other than Liljegren, Leafs don’t get habe single prospect in top 100. If we trade gardiner, we need young, cheap players with upside potential. Not another aging pending UFA looking for big bucks.

Would rather have Liljegren, who looked absolutely outstanding on Marlies and will almost definitely be making the Leafs some time this coming season. Trouba misses a lot of time due to injury, and it’s difficult to imagine he will ever truly live up to his potential when he’s sidelined so often.
Leafs pass.
