The schenn trade is too much.

To get a player like schenn that will be the price.

I like the thought of Zadorov and with colorado going to the playoffs gardiners seems legit to be a target. i mean zadorov and zaitsev actually works. gardiner and johnson actual works. i think leafs don't need to give them rosen. just add in a stipulation of if gardiner doesn't sign toronto gives colorado picks. i think gardiner may just sign he fits this team.

Ferland for brown and 3rd i'd take but if it didn't happen i wouldn't ge angry. ferland left side brown right side. either or. heck that pick may not be needed.

Schenn st. louis is actually shopping. he is still good but doesn't seem to fit st. louis. I would prefer to get him without giving up kadri. Bracco and 1st is good start but adding a few prospects not named liljegren, sandin or scott may get better his done.

Overall good targets. a few tweeks and all deals could be haved.

I don’t for one second believe that Schenn’s stats this year are representative of what can be expected from him going forward. For whatever reason this Blues team, that looks so outstanding on paper, has failed to come together in a significant way. Maybe St. Louis wants to give this team another shot at making it work. I mean, let’s face it, there was a lot of big changes this summer, and it’s entirely possible these guys just need more time to pull together as a team.

I don’t have a clue what St. Louis next move is. Schenn and Pietrangelo both are UFA end of next year. Trading either of them now is equivalent of selling low. Armstrong has lots of time to roll the dice and hope this team starts out hot next year. Hopefully this season is simply growing pains.

I don’t tend to discuss or emphasize value as much anymore because it is such a contentious topic, but in Schenn’s case I think it’s pretty easy. He was traded for 2x1st to Blues a couple years ago. That was when he was coming off a good season and had more term on his contract. It’s now two years later and a Schenn is having a real downer for a season. 2x1st doesn’t seem as appealing knowing that’s what St. Louis paid two years ago. If they think they are going to rent Schenn for free for two years and then try and get out what they put in after such a dismal performance this year, they might not find any takers. 2x1st is what Pittsburgh paid for 8 years of Kessel. A year and half of Schenn doesn’t seem to be as fair at the same price.

My thing is Toronto needs to add some pieces Ferland is a rental schenn contract runs out the same time as Marleau so if it works out Toronto may have the option to resign him and a player like zadorov is needed I don’t think he’s the long term solution but he’s cheap and affective it’s a win win for Toronto but Toronto is kinda in a spot where they can’t add a lot with marner and Mathews needing new deals.

Zadorov is pretty awesome. He loves to lay out the body too. He’s really working out well for Colorado. Considering what they paid for him, Avs may be reluctant to let him go for what’s on offer here. Gardiner is pending UFA after all, while Zadorov is RFA. If Avs really want Gardiner, they have the cap space they can afford to outbid virtually anyone else in the league for him in the off-season. He really would be a good fit for Avs and they may want to get the jump on opportunity to sign him before everyone else by trading for him though. If we can get a return like Zadorov for Gard’s, it’s a no-brainer. I personally feel like Leafs would have to include a higher conditional pick though.

All the guys you suggest bringing in are very good players. Looking at your suggest, it’s clearly a nice improvement over our already impressive roster. A few tweaks like what you suggest here, and this team is all-star.
