Let Gardiner walk after this year. Fit everyones new contract under the cap, carry only 18 players and 2 goalies since the marlies are down the street callups are easy. Keep Hainsey 1 more year.

On July 1, 2020 Marleaus contract and hortons contract are gone. Free agent defenseman options include: Pietrangelo, Tyson Barrie and Justin Faulk.

Pietrangelo could pull the Tavares hometown boy signing since he's from the area. Signing a guy like him means Zaitsev can be traded.

Can we carry a roster of only 20 players? I thought we had to have 23 man roster?

The minimum is 20 (18 skaters and 2 goalies), maximum is 23. Teams keep 23 to minimize the losses to waivers or to keep additional depth for practice.

Betcha the Pietrangelo for Nylander is looking like a lost opportunity now eh? Horrible contract and will only get worse IMO.

They can carry 20 yes, but then the other 3 guys get buried and thus count against cap. going through all the teams on cap friendly they all have 23 players who are cap hit whether injured or buried 23 seem to have to count towards cap. i could be wrong but that's how i see it. good idea though.

He’s off to a slow start. Give him time. Kadri hasn’t been doing well either this year. They are much better players than what we have seen so far this year.

Craigger- good point I want to look into this

LeafsGM- Pietrangelo would be my guy. Plays more of a two way game. We already have Rielly putting up the points. I think Barrie would cost more and wouldn't be able to play the PK like Piet could.

Petro is in an entirely different tier than those other guys.

On a side note he will resign with blues.

Also would like to know why people think Armstrong would trade petro for a hold out nylander or even now when he is on pace for 10 points lol.
