That first trade is highway robbery David. Jokiharju is doing absolutely fantastic. He’s got to be considered a Calder candidate. On pace for 30 points, with a 55% cf, and 0 +/ - on a porous Chicago team, he’s been a real bright spot for a team that is rapidly becoming irrelevant. The cost to pry him out of Chicago may be out of our reach. You got to think he’s going to be the backbone of the rebuild.

We are stuck with Marleau. All the bleached blondes with fake boobs in California won’t get him to waive to play for LA. He’s been there and done that.

Rosen really standing tall this year in AHL. Between him and Dermott, the decision to just let Gardiner walk after season’s end must be getting easier by the day for Dubas.

Looking at the roster, Zaitsev and Marleau are the two contracts that really stand out. I don’t think Marleau will be going anywhere, but what are your thought so on Zaitsev David? Is it possible we dump him on somebody? And what kind of return do you think we could anticipate? I know you are an astute observer. I value your opinion quite highly actually. Wish you would contribute a little more often again though. You sorta seem to be an irregular on the forum these days.

I agree my Chicago trade is a reach. but using brown and a first round pick to bring back a young defencemen with term is what I’m looking for. Moving Zaitsev I’m all for it and I suppose if you could move David clarkson you can move anyone.

Back to Marleau his home is in SanJOSE. Sending him back to SAN JOSE isn’t a option as even though his salary will only be a million plus his cap hit with be 6.5. Don’t rule out LA a perfect fit they need to sell some false hope to their fan base and a cheap Marleau helps them. Marleau might want to relocate his family back to California so it might work out let’s hope.

Whatever happens leafs must hold onto Kapanan and Johnsson few more seasons espially Kapanan who maybe better than nylander we will see. LEAFSGM you’re the one one than can find that ideal defencemen to leafs for BROWN and a first 2019. Your much better at this than I am cheers my friend happy holidays.

You keep forgetting Hyman as part of the trade offer.

Hyman + Brown + 1st for Manson and Ritchie. That fills two issues Grit and defense and increasing salaries by $1 MM.

Zaitsev + Lilygren for Mayfield.

Lol. I’m not better at anything David. None of these trades will ever become reality. I just happen to float a few more proposals than you is all.

LA is in a world of hurt. I think they are tight against the cap as well, so Leafs would need to take salary back if we send them Marleau (assuming he waives) .

If Kapanen remains beside Matthews, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him put up numbers similar to Nylander’s. We should be able to sign him much cheaper as well. Would love to keep both him and Johnsson on the team. Their speed alone makes them highly effective.
