Randy! Where you been hiding? The gym is pretty slow until New Year. Need you to post more stuff to give me something to do while I should be working.

Love your trades. I always do. There’s not enough good things to say about all those players you suggest. Slavin and Pesce are fantastic. Signed long term to very reasonable contracts. Fleaury is a monster and will be cheap to re-sign. Not sure Carolina wants to blow up their defense. But if they took this trade, Leafs oils instantly have one of the best, if not the best, defense in the league.

Edmonton is looking for puck moving offensive defenseman. Gardiner fits that need very well. RNH signed $6M a year. I don’t know if we could afford him after making the Carolina deal. Too much number crunching for me to try make right now. I think RNH can play center too can he not? If that’s the case it really gives us flexibility and depth on the forward group. I think RNH would have breakout season playing for us too. We could do worse than pursue RNH, that’s for sure.

Love both these trades. Looking at your lineups, you realize just how much better they really do make the team. Easily the best forward group, and after the trades here, would have the best defense crew too.

After Reviewing Randy's proposals including Hopkins and if

Matthews is signed at $11.5 MM
Marner at $8.5 MM
Kapanen at a bridge at $3 MM for 2 years
Johnssn at a bridge at $1.5 MM for 2 years.

Marleau must be traded

Lindholm at 1.8 MM and Leivo and Moore are signed at 1 MM for Leivo and 700 MM

Than Sandin and Lilygren should really be the 3rd Defense, with
Rosen and Holl as the extra two.

Engvall or Grundstrom becomes the spare forward, totaling $2.6 MM for the 3.

The Team costs no more than $81 MM with the use of the LTIR by using Lilygren and Sandin, the team's salart will be 80.5 MM.

In the Carolina deal I would change Fluery to Gauthier.

In the Edmonton deal Gauthier and Ennis are throw ins and don't need to be in the deal. That makes the deal Nuge for Gardiner. I don't think Chiarelli will make that deal a 2nd time even if you masquerade it as a 3 for 1.

I like these trades on the leafs end. Very amazing. the problem is the whole Hainsey effect. that may be only stumbling block on this deal. other than that if all teams say yes then the leafs look great for years

If you bridge Matthews for 2 years at $ 8 MM and Marner at $ 6MM . Than you can keep Marleau for the last season as a 3rd LW.

Dump marleau then? i'd rather have them long term marleau is not worth what he's being paid you could probably convince him to take a trade with the promise of a position with the organization after he retires if he wants.
