To Minnisota: Nylander

To Leafs: Spurgeon & Kaprizov

Let me preface this proposal by saying I do not wish to see Nylander traded.
But, if it finally comes to a trade, Leafs have two requirements.
Upgrade the RHD a need Spurgeon fills and second, replace some of Nylanders offence.
Kaprizov is still playing for and under contract to his team in the KHL.
Kaprizov has expressed the desire to play in the NHL when his current deal is done.
He has shown high level offensive skills in the K that should translate to today's NHL.

Spurgean is a solid Dman. I don't like his size but he could fit in well with the leafs. The prospect you put in this deal I have no clue who he is. I do feel Minnesota would have to brow in quite a bit more due to Nylander being better than just a solid player.

Don't know how much more but more either way.

Good starting point to a deal but more is needed.

Kaprizov is a solid Russian prospect who scored 9 points in 6 games for OAR in their Gold medal run last year. Plays high minutes on arguably the deepest roster in the KHL (CSKA) . Shoots left but can play both wings, skilled shifty forward type. He'd make a great prospect coming back to the Leafs. Add a pick from MIN, 1st or 2nd, and I think the Leafs do it. Probably a 1st since Minnesota's on pace to be a top playoff team in the West.

Thanks for the prospect report. That was very thorough and I agree with your counter proposal of adding a pick.
