So Tip of the Tower posted this:
To Leafs:
Pesce, Foegele, 2019 1st
To Carolina:
Nylander

What do you think the chance of this happening is, because I've heard the teams are trying to put together a big package going both ways, and the tower isn't the most reliable source

To be honest, I don’t know why either team would want to be putting together a big package. Carolina might still feel the need to shake things up a bit, but they already made a couple bug moves this summer, and trading out the above and bringing in Nylander would be the cherry. Leafs don’t have any reason tk be moving all kinds of personnel unless it is B-prospects and fringe players that won’t ever make the team in any meaningful way. We don’t want to rock the boat.

I think the above trade is pretty reasonable. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this exact same proposal in this site before. Maybe more than once. I’m not seeing a whole lot in Foegele, but there could be something there that I’m missing.

Prefer Pesce+ Ferland for Nylander, than sign Ferland at a 4 or 5 year deal at $4 MM salary cap.

@Heatdreamer
I think Carolina will try and hold on to Ferland unless the reports are true and they really are all in for Nylander, I think it’s a fair trade if leafs add a conditional 4th that turns into a 2nd if Ferland re-signs.

I feel Julien Gauthier or Nick Roy is a preferable return to Foegele or Ferland.

I'd love to snag Gauthier. Very recent first-round pick who would really benefit from a year working with the Leafs skating coaches. Big gritty dude too, just what the Leafs need. Only problem is he doesn't play LW, where we could really use prospects.
