Ask yourself do you seriously think Carolina weakens their blueline immensely for Nylander and a rental? Unless their cheapsake owner offers Gardiner 8.0 AAV over long term, which he won't, Gardiner leaves

You could get one of those dmen in a Nylander trade but never both
