If Nylander comes back, we should think about moving Brown to bring in someone to shore up the LW. Greenway is a giant and would be a nice choice to play on 4LW beside Gauthier.

What do you think about Vegas? Off to a slow start. Even if they win the next two games, they are only a .500 team after 10% of the season.

Was last year an anomaly fuelled by steroids and adrenaline? And maybe if they keep underperforming, is there opportunity to make a trade with them? Say Nylander for Tuch and Hague?

So you want to bring in a dman in Dougherty to shore up Leafs biggest weakness? Let's see he has 0 NHL games and he solves their issue? Where did you want to play him alongside Rielly on first pairing? Why not have him replace Rielly on first PP unit because you know Rielly is struggling keeping up on PP? Why not focus on finding an experienced dman who helps now?

Then you want to bring in a LW in Greenway to fix the FOURTH LINE? because he has size? 6'6" 198 lbs does not make an NHLer. 10 NHL career games a big fat zero in goals scored. Enlighten us with an in depth scouting report on what he offers.

God was on Vegas side last year nothing went wrong so expect a big fall. Borderline for playoffs but ahead of Edmonton.

Sports prediction 101

If the city that the team plays in has a disaster of a large magnitude, that team gets a huge boost for 1 calendar year. It helps the cities moral and helps rebuild the city.

Examples of this include
Baseball. giant vs As earthquake
Football. New Orleans hurricane
Hockey. Vegas and Ottawa shootings. both made cup final.
The Boston marathon put a fire under all 4 professional teams in Boston area.

Minus the As and Boston every team had a 1 year window where nothing went wrong. the following year they stunk up the joint and got caught doing everything they were doing wrong. basically if a call is on the fence it will go their way. if a player does something stupid the league will turn a blind eye. however, after that magical season ends everything gets called and caught and punished. that's why a natural build to success although takes 3-8 years is better than 1 disaster magical season any day.

Rocket9, trading Leivo who is a fourth liner fringe player for a possibility is a all LeafsGM was suggesting. no top pairing or pp time was suggested.

The Greenway deal was also just a suggestion. if and when Nylander signs the leafs have a lot of RW. Brown is a 3rd liner not a 4th. If the leafs decide to keep both Kapanen and Nylander than Brown becomes a 4th liner and PK guy. big waste of his talent. so if Leafs go this route in keeping 2 more skilled guys than a Brown deal would become something to look into. bringing in a big forward who has good speed and actually hits people would be a solid guy to trade for Brown. Minny may have to add a prospect but the 1.5 million saved in this deal will be the bigger value.

Please stop with the insensitive comments. LeafsGM suggests many many deals. he gets the conversations started. whether his deals makes sense or not at least it gets people talking.

I would agree bout Leivo. I would trade him and Marincin for late round picks to open 2 contracts and removes 1.7 off cap. Both very replaceable from within.

Brown is very well liked by Babcock (see Hyman) so he is not being traded for unproven non NHLer.

I will stop with insensitive comments. He began comments on one of my posts. He needed to be put in his place. Hope he learned his lesson. We'll see. I got more if he warrants it.
