Trade William Nylander to Ottawa for Bradey Tkachuk and throw in a waiver player or two

Absolutely not.

Nylander is proven. An exceptional player, he is worth far more than young Tkachuk, who still has a lot to prove before he can be considered an equal to Nylander.

nylander has only proven to be too soft as the bruin series showed last year, he's a 3 million dollar player if kadri is a 4 million dollar player.

Not only Nylander was "soft" in the Bruins/ Leafs series, Its a team not just one player. Nylander is too valuable, a deal will get done between Nylander and the Leafs and no Tkachuk; not know anyway, and who knows Tkachuck may find his way to Toronto after three miserable, and unmotivating years in Ottawa, something the Leafs knew all too well.

I don't see the Leafs and Ottawa dealing high end players with one another but you never know. let's try something like this just for fun

Leafs get 1 year of Stone to replace Nylander until they figure out exactly what they want to do to replace Nylander. Stone adds strength on a rather weak team and steals the puck a lot. See how he does as a Leaf before making long term move. He replaces all of Nylander point so

Ceci is a big RHD leafs need for now and future. I'd love his addition to this this blueline.

Nylander gives Ottawa something to sell to the fans about the future
Carrick and Leivo get full playing time now
Pickard could be the starter but a true least backup

Have you lost your mind? Nylander for Ceci? No way. Ceci is a good player, sure, but he is far from elite, and is not worth trading 8 years of Nylander’s offensive production for.

Greedy Mark Stone is a good one year rental to replace Greedy William Nylander. But we can get other one year rentals for less I’m sure (Eberle and Lee come to mind) . If we trade Nylander, it has to be for a comparable talent. Ceci isn’t even a second tier defenseman. And if we are bringing in Stone, we may as well just sign Nylander. Both are greedy and selfish, but Nylander will be around a lot longer.
