Why Theodore? I mean, he’s LHD, of which we already have a surplus of. He’s a good player, sure, but where exactly does he fit? Assuming we trade or let Gardiner go, we still have a ton of quality young players that we can put into the 3LHD position, while promoting Dermott to second line.

Personally, I would much rather have Hague. Even if it costs us a better prospect or pick.

I think we as Leafs nation may be promoting Dermott a little prematurely. Babs isn't happy with Dermott's offseason work apparently, and it sounds like Borgman outplayed him against Ottawa tonight. Plus a Borgman-Ozhiganov pairing would fit Babs mold of having bruisers lower down the depth chart.

Looks like 1 more year of Dermott Liljegren with Marlies is on the horizon

Which isn't that bad considering it saves Leafs money down the road.

Gardiner Reilly (24+a game for both, McCabe Kaberle2003/ 04)
Hainsey Zaitsev
Borgman Ozhiganov
Carrick

Marincin Holl
Dermott Liljegren
Rosen Leverde
Subban

Sandin Durzi AHL/ echl
Hollowell Gordeev ohl
Lindgren shl

Thats my prediction, not that it matters I'm not Babs so I could be way off.

This does seem very plausible. I could at the very least see Dermott start with the Marlies until the RHD position is settled, since all the LHDs are waiver exempt and Carrick and Holl are not. Carrick in particular would likely be claimed if he were put on waivers.
